Fastenal Shutting Down??
I have/had a wholesale account with Fastenal for the better part of 20 years. Just got back from a run to the store. Closed up--kinda-- place was almost gutted out, doors locked except for the roll-up. Talked to the guys there. Looks like they're going with on-line sales or you can call them up and order what you need then wait a minimum of 3-4 days for your stuff to show up. If it falls into a weekend I'm sure that would be extended 2 days. Who knows what they're going to need a week in advance when they're working on a project.? WTF.... First they shut down all public walk in sales a few years back. Had to have an account with all your info. Now this. Anybody else seeing this or is it a California thing? I really hate bean counters. Looks like I'm doing more with www.nutsandbolts.com or bolt depot

Re: Fastenal Shutting Down??
Our local fastenal stores have been like that for about 4yrs now...
They have a supply contract with us at work...very poor service to us for supplies.. I did use fastenal for personal use because there is a store 10min from my house, Now I use McMaster Carr..some things I can order today and have it tomorrow...and a much better selection to boot

Re: Fastenal Shutting Down??
I ran into that issue with the Fastenal in Auburn. I have started using Grainger a lot now. They can get stuff in usually overnight, and there's no shipping charge on stuff picked up at the local branch. The down side is that the closest one to me is about a 20 minute drive. I can usually combine trips though.

Re: Fastenal Shutting Down??
I have a Friend that works with them.
takes care of a Big Corporation. This place makes hot water heaters and boilers. So, they will need this service to continue. He worked his way up to this. He deserves this position.: metal: I will have to have a Conversation with him soon.
