In my opinion the best armrests and dash pads

Used to buy my armrests and dash pads from Summit Racing. They were sold under the OER label but were manufactured by Dashes Direct. Looks like now you can buy the Dashes Direct products under the JEGS brand name. I’d highly recommend them over the Counterparts parts offered by most of the mail order companies.

Pictures are of the Parchment White armrests I used on the 1970 K10 shortbed fleetside that I’m working on. The color appears pretty close to the original gold paint on the metal door panels.

Re: In my opinion the best armrests and dash pads

I have a set of Counterpart 64-67 style arm rests in my truck, and they are rock hard. The originals had some squish to them. Are these DashesDirect/Jegs arm rests you got squishy, or are they rock hard?

They are definitely not rock hard. They do have a little give for your elbow.

Can you push on it with your thumb and have your thumb sink into it a visible amount?

Nice. I'll give the 64-67 OER arm rests a try. Thanks

Yep. I know your post is about 67-71 arm rests. I'm just hoping OER uses the same material for their 64-67 arm rests because the Counterpart arm rests I have currently are super hard. Were you referring to something else that I might have missed?

My original post states I can’t it OER from Summit Racing but the JEGS brand from Jegs mail order are made by Dashes Direct. Dashes Direct used to make OER but I’m not sure if OER offers dash pads or arm rests anymore and if OER dash pads and arm rests are still available I’m not sure who is manufacturing them.

Re: In my opinion the best armrests and dash pads

Gotcha. Jegs lists these 64-66 arm rests as made in USA, which is the same as what Dashes Direct says on their website.

https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/91424/10002/-1

https://dashesdirect.com/product/196...arm-rest-pads/

Seems likely that these Jegs arm rests are also made by Dashes Direct.

Would think so.

Re: In my opinion the best armrests and dash pads

Have a dashes direct dash pad in hand for my 72, purchased many years ago. It is parchment, no longer available. It is also stock style, frame with padding covered in vinyl. On their website only the urethane versions appear to be available now. I would guess that the arm rests are made of the same urethane used in the dashes. Hopefully it works for you.

Re: In my opinion the best armrests and dash pads

I purchased a set of 64-66 arm rests from Jegs. They are much softer than my current Counterpart arm rests, but unfortunately the softer compound makes them way too flimsy and flexible in my opinion. It is obvious that they don't have a steel internal structure like the original ones did. I'm going to continue looking for good originals.
