Square Two quick cleanup 1977 Chevrolet C20 Custom Deluxe
Thought I'd post up my second squarebody. One of my neighbours inherited it from his uncle, who bought it new.
It had died in front of the neighbour's house and sat there a few years. I had seen it but it was so covered in green slime and the drivers door was burst, so I hadn't inquired about it. Then he approached me and I took a better look and had to take it in. I called it "Square Two" because I had just bought the first one shortly before.

The story is the uncle had used it for his camper, and that it had been stored in an open carport most of its life.
The drivers side was exposed to more weather and so there is rust on the bedrail where the canopy sat. Also the burst door where I guess rain was coming past the window seal and not draining out the door properly (this is it after a bath with barkeepers friend). The rocker is surprisingly good.

Re: Square Two quick cleanup 1977 Chevrolet C20 Custom Deluxe
It needed a fuel pump and I ended up buying a new hard line from pump to carb, also the tank fill hose which I wrecked trying to get the old gas out.
But I got her running again. I think she looks pretty handsome. This is the first light she's seen since I got her in 2020. Made it to the gas station. Had to clean the window with the station squeegee so the day permit could be seen (she's dirty!) And she meets her little friend Square One

temporary rust cleanup
I decided to just wire wheel and coat the rust for now to give her a better 30-footer look from afar. If I keep her I'll either patch the bed using the scraps from my other long to short project or buy a bedside.
The door skin is only bad at the very bottom and the inner is not bad. I'd like to try welding in the patches but no time at the moment.

painted rust
This is with some paint on it. Its nice how easy it is to get the right paint for this truck using only the SPID code from NAPA. I also painted the bed floor but didn't manage to take pictures.
I know its ugly but, like I said, this is for the 30-footers and to give me some instant gratification. Oops Ugly

Cleans up well
Here she is looking pretty. There is at least 10 hours of buffing done at this point, not including quite a few hours of washing before that.
I also found some original wheels and hubcaps and got the wheels sandblasted and rattle canned.

Thanks you guys she’s a good one I’m liking driving her more than the other two and people seem to really like the colour.
