Re: Bumper brackets thickness question
Seems to me they're the same or close enough. Thing about replacements is sometimes they don't fit described applications, for at least rare occasions, ask me how I know. Worse, the bracket platforms for a sport bumper bar are often or always not flat, and require convincing before they're finished or Oh NO! Personally I'd seek OEM, they're superior parts in every way when still healthy.

Re: Bumper brackets thickness question
I bought aftermarket brackets for the rear bumper and they seem to be pretty hefty. I did not have an OEM set to compare, though they seemed to be about as thick as the original front bumper brackets. The ones I bought were Goodmark.

Re: Bumper brackets thickness question
I bought repro rear brackets for my 67. Thickness seemed the same. The small inner brackets fit nice, but the longer outer ones weren't even close to the correct angle on either end, unless I'm a total idiot. ( not impossible ).
Without some serious tweaking to bend the ends to fit they aren't even close. So far the brackets are stll in the box and my bumper is only secured by the center brackets. This has me a little gun shy to buy brackets for my front bumper. The drivers side original is bent pretty bad. I'm driving with only the center brackets on that one too.

Re: Bumper brackets thickness question
I can confirm they are the exact thickness as originals. . I had to add a piece from a 72 to mine for clearance for a fog light. This is why I needed to know the thickness.
