fall is near

Some of the leaves are falling, our temps are taking a dip this week, some rains are happening AND it's county fair week. Happens like this most every year.
Fall is round the corner. I'm ready.

not out here in commifornia, we are still over 100 degrees and haven't seen rain for a looooooong time. weather service says we "might" drop 5-10 degrees over the weekend.

Re: fall is near

The weather here has been great for the first week of Sept but it is cooling a lot more at night and the lake temp is cooling off a bit on the swims. Soon it will be time to trade lake days for a couple weekends in the SXS, hoodies, and backcountry wiener roasts. Snowmobile season will be here before I know it.

It was 108° here yesterday and those poor electricians were replacing my breaker box. At least they put up a tarp to block a lot of the heat. It got up to 85° in the house, and was getting to me. Couldn't even run a fan.

Do the panels have heaters to melt the snow?

Re: fall is near

Because of the lack of rain, The leaves started turning a few weeks ago.

They are blowing out of the trees today.

We are headed for a cool down this week also.

Mid 70s and windy here today. Is full on sunshine though. About half of what I mowed this week was leaves.

Re: fall is near

Our August was lack luster, but our first week of September is pretty darn nice. Almost hit 90 one day. It is getting cooler at night though and when I look at the extended forecast (guess) its definitely going to be cooling off, daily temps are low 70's down in to the 60's.

Re: fall is near

It’s started cooling off some at night and only high 80’s during the day here. I noticed the nights getting cooler about the last week of August. Just like clock work almost every year at least since I’ve been in NM. Its way more predictable here than it was on the east coast.

Re: fall is near

In the 90s here. I have seen Maples and Virginia Creeper turning. Could be the time of year, lack of rain, or the freeze we had last week. My Hops look very happy. Fires everywhere. Ash raining down like snow. Cant open the windows at night to cold charge for the day. Cant see the other side of the canyon or the Sisters. Going to cool down end of next week.

I finally looked up the city under your name because you always seem to get colder and snow earlier than most.

Ok I get it now lol, you are way up there.

Its not the end of the earth, but you can see it from here...
Still close enough to get some effect from lake superior, but not like in duluth MN.
On a side note, it is mid 80s today.
