Coolant dripping from front driver side fender

All the sudden I have coolant dripping out of the bottom of the front driver side fender. Just started. Truck hasn’t been cranked in at least a week if not closer to two weeks. any ideas as to why and how to fix? Last thing I did was bleed the sysyem add an overflow hose through the bottom front of the passenger fender well. I also topped the coolant off but that’s been 2 or 3 weeks ago.

It's not the heater core if on the drivers side. Must be a leak from the upper radiator hose, or water pump if it's slinging coolant. A visual inspection is in order..

also make sure ur drain plug is intact. I have had a radiator with a plastic plug just cracked on me and started dripping.

Re: Coolant dripping from front driver side fender

Here are some pics. Doesn’t appear to be leaking from upper hose or drain plug. Mostly under the driver side corner. There’s a little on the right side under the return hose. Couldn’t get a picture. Nothing in between.

Loosen the fan shroud and pull it away so you can look at the seams and cores to see if there is a drip there.

Re: Coolant dripping from front driver side fender

My guess is it's coming from your radiator and it's just dripping there because it's a low point.

I suspect spilled coolant running along the radiator support and dripping out of the drivers side. Also, unless you have a coolant recovery tank, these systems do not run with a completely full radiator (normally they are down an inch or so from the top). If you filled the rad to the top and then ran the vehicle it will dump some coolant from the overflow until the system reaches its happy level. This may be what you are seeing.

Re: Coolant dripping from front driver side fender

Most likely. Radiator is brand new though so it’s strange to me that it just started out of the blue. Hasn’t been run in weeks and no work has been done in the area it’s coming from.

.

Couple days ago my radiator started leaking. The culprit turned out to be a big rat. Just sayin.

Thinking that too.
The ol' "rinse and hope it doesn't repeat" test seems appropriate

Truck kept inside and I work on it most of the time. Don’t think this is likely.

Re: Coolant dripping from front driver side fender

Noticed the radiator cap is 9# not sure if that may have anything to do with it and the fan shroud doesn't fit up flush with the radiator. Mounts to the radiator hold down brackets but has about a 1/2" gap between the radiator support and the back of the brackets.

Original caps are 15#, which will make any leaks worse.
