Question for exhaust experts

A year and a half ago I built an exhaust system for my Blazer. I'm running a 5.7 L31 Vortec with an HT383 cam and about 9.5:1 compression.

The exhaust is 2.5 rams horns into 2.5 stainless tubing, with an H pipe behind the transfer case and Magnaflow 6 x 14 inch round mufflers right behind that. The exhaust exits behind the rear wheels at about a 10 degree angle and the ends are cut at 10 degrees to match the body line. I really like the sound, but there appears to be a bit of a "slap" sound as the exhaust exits.

I'm considering fabricating 3.5 inch stainless tips. They would be about 12" long. What effect would that have on the exhaust note?

Your system sounds to be about as well done as a person can do. The slight "blap" noise is likely from your mufflers being as short as they are. Usually "H" pipes help with noise, but not always. "X" pipes can help with performance ("H" pipes also) but tend to be louder.

It would sound better if you went with 2.5s into a single 3'' muffler
