PPG paint

I know many paint companies have budget lines? Question is if a shop says they use PPG could it be a cheap line made by PPG?

Also.... (bonus question) what type of tape should one use to protect while putting on trim etc.

Re: PPG paint

It could be, but I would expect a quality/reputable PPG shop. That offers a warranty on their work. Most likely will be using PPG's Deltron or Global line. If the customer is really trying to cheap out. Or the project doesn't really warrant it. One of the cheaper PPG lines could be used. Like Omni or Shop Line. But, the customer should know up front, what they are getting.

A couple layers of automotive painters tape usually works good. If you're really "beating" on something. You can layer tougher/stronger items on top of that.
