No, the toolbox is not original, I replaced the entire pickup box with a newer one that came equipped with the toolbox. The toolbox was complete and in amazing condition. I modified the '68 trim to fit that portion of the bedside.

Excellent work! I did the same thing on my K20, luckily my door was in excellent shape as well. There’s a lot of debate over whether the K trucks ever got the tool stowage boxes from the factory. If they did not many of them were made for sure.

Very nice! I might do the same with my 68, as I have a complete toolbox setup. I’ve wondered what it would look like with the 68 trim modified, and now I know. The toolbox option wasn’t available until 69 so it’s nice to see one adapted to an earlier year.

Thanks for sharing that is a really good looking truck. I see the white hooks have survived all these years, if not repainted you don’t see them in that condition often.

Tony Hayes out of Oregon is the owner of that black and white k20. That’s all he buys is original paint super k20. He also has a mint olive 72 k5 Highlander. Seems like an awesome dude with great taste in trucks
