"Fuel Pincher Diesel" Badge?

I remember some of the Chevrolet and GMC mediums that were powered by the Detroit Diesel 8.2L diesel V-8 engine had front fender badges reading "FUEL PINCHER DIESEL" instead of the usual model series (6000 or 7000) badge.

I would like to think this only lasted for two years, 1980 and '81.

I remember those. It was an insert that replaced the series designation in the fender emblem. Speaking of '73-'90 medium duty trucks, here is a rare emblem. '73-'74 only:
