Re: 1973 k10 fitech ultimate LS no fuel
The Borg box comes stock with o-ring style pressure and return ports as I understand. You can get adapter fitting that screw in no brass inserts needed. I've used them a number times on later model steering boxes that used o-ring fittings.
But I'm using teflon lined -6 on the pressure side. Standard -6 on the return side. Pic of my 68. |

Re: 1973 k10 fitech ultimate LS no fuel
Yeah, I've used the borgeson inverted flare adapters for the metric o ring style gear boxes to convert to inverted flare lines when I put power steering on my dads 1964 c10.
I'm using CPP adapter for pressure line to convert inverted flare pressure port on gearbox to metric o ring. The leak is from the inverted flare brass seat inside the gearbox port having a deep ring ridge worn into the sealing surface of the brass seat. I found Lee power steering makes a replacement seat kit with install tool for the different saginaw gearboxes pre-1980 and later. For about $40. Anyways, I cleaned up both the fitting and seat faces better and reconnected everything. I'm about to fire it up again and see if I was able to fix the leak. Other wise I will be ordering the seat kit from Lee power steering.
