Good job. I was facilities mgr at a chemical plant in West Ky before I retired. I had a mini split installed for 2 offices in the summer once and come bad weather, a gutter failed and promptly flooded the outside unit. Of course it froze and rendered it useless. The guys set a bullet heater on a pallet, lifted it up and aimed it at the unit until it thawed. Then we did exactly what you did. Worked perfectly.

$300 for a piece like that seems like a steal. You said it had carving but that's like 25 times what I would have expected.

No way to lose on a piece like this. I wouldn't be able to buy the wood for $300 if I was to build one. I'm pleased. The wife will stuff it with quilts that she has made. That'll be two less white melamine cabinets in the family room. Those things are eyesores, to me.

HA ! my wife is a quilter too and the new cabinet will get filled, and the Melamine cabinets may leave the family room, but I'd bet they go to another room and get filled with fabric and batting...

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I brought this seagull home for a friend, to install a new rod. The rod is assembled with barrel nuts in epoxy, and kep nuts to lock them in place. The rod is 12" long, and I need all but what screws into the barrel nuts. So for just in case, I secured those with pieces of plumbers tape and #10 screws. Then I decided to paint it.

That's Cool.

It reminds me of the one my Grandpa had above his garage.
It was a Man sawing wood driven by windmill power.

So true. But unless she wants those other cabinets standing in the middle of the room, they have to get gone. The only place left would be in front of the TV, and that's sure not happening! She has one bedroom (12' X 15') as her sewing room, and she has to walk sideways to get over to her desk or sewing machine. Crazy.

Cool. Man, I'd like to have one of those myself. This will fly till the wings fall off, perhaps this winter? It's going on top this 7' fence I built, finished one year ago come to think of it, almost to the day. That wasn't free, the bird on me. I painted the bottom plumbers tape with rattle can high heat Orange; and the same "junk" for a primer. Never has use for them until now.

Even the paint I did buy was cheap, <$15 Amazon, hardware a couple bucks. Thought it might be cool to make some stuff? I don't have the tools for it - pretty fine stuff, 1/8" pieces. Perhaps my jigsaw for slots, it's better than I am.

Nice job on the Fence.

And That's a great Watering hole Right There.

This is a picture below of (Close to) what my Grandpa had.
He actually made some custom versions for Neighbors in the day.

Fence is STOUT, and all but the posts redwood. All screws. But the "good neighbor" sections are uneven, for too many reasons. The prep for that job was a nightmare, too old for that *&^$.

You got that right. I'd probably lose too many finger tips, I'm not supposed to be around sharp stuff

Sounds like a neat grandpa. I never really new one, unfortunately. One drowned on a fishing trip, the other early Alzheimers. But my dad's grandpa's look cool, I'm sure his paternal on the top right was real mellow, and liberal Top left his maternal, working on a railroad.

Even better that you (read that "she") have a use for it. Given your woodworking abilities, no wonder you consider melamine cabinets an eyesore. But they look great in a garage or shop, filled with parts or tools! And stickers adhere nicely ; )

I have a garage full of those eyesores! On one wall four are screwed together and have a lot of my wood working tools. Some have the doors removed so that I can get things out more easily, since there is so little room to move. Another wall has food and cooking implements, cleaning supplies, etc. Got 9 of those ugly buggers out there! Thanks for the complement on the wood working!

Two days ago I took my wife to Cripple Creek and Victor and we stopped to visit Rita the Rock Planter. Quite a sight to see.

It's told that this is the second in Colorado made by Artist Thomas Dambo. Here is a link to more info.

Took the Mustang vert for a cruise today. Lunch and a 50-60 mile cruise. Was mid to upper 70's I think for the last time this fall. Soy beans are out. They are working on the corn.
