Painting new EDP Coated Panels

I've kind of half convinced myself to do the paint on my 70 Blazer I'm building. I've started doing some research to educate myself on the process, so hopefully this isn't a dumb question lol.

I'm not fully convinced I want to do it yet, but I have a panel that I want to paint to get my feet wet. Its a brand new rear bed floor of the Blazer so a good test area as:

1) its going to be covered in carpet so any screw ups and being painted separately really won't matter and

2) it should give me an idea if this is something I want to attempt on the rest of the truck

I've already epoxy primered and raptor coated the bottom, so I know it is in fact EDP coating (I did the rag test and none of it came off). So for the top I was planning on scuffing with some scotch brite again and then putting on a couple coats of epoxy primer. Can I go from epoxy straight to my base/clear?

Yes, if the epoxy goes on smooth enough for your liking. You should be able to let it flash, then base/clear it. The TDS for the epoxy should give you an exact answer for top coating it.
