1969 396 engine completely rebuilt

I live in Cooperstown NY. Asking 6250. for the engine. I have the receipt for this exact amount to rebuild it.

This 396 engine was in my 1969 GMC 2500 Longhorn truck and I had it totally rebuilt but it has never been installed. I decided to not finish the restoration of this truck so the engine alone is now for sale.

If you are planning to put this into a 67-72 GM truck I have all sorts of parts that bolts onto this engine: complete PS brackets pump and hoses, engine mounts, engine stands, new alternator etc.

Here is what was done by a professional rebuild by Alan Steere:
- Degreased
- Decks squared to main
- Lifters bored out and enlarged to .875
- Bored and honed, .030 over square to the main
- Block was deck-plated when honed and bored
- Re-surfaced cylinder heads (Original heads) .010
- Connecting rods magnafluxed and resized with new bolts
- Crankshaft 10 + 10 (uses oversize bearings).
- Balanced rotating assembly
- New SS valves, 3 angle valve job
- New pistons, rods and main bearings
- New cam, lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, timing chain and gears, oil pump and screen. All blueprinted.
- Cam specs: @.050 duration 210 degrees on intake, 215 degrees on exhaust, , valve lifters .440 on both, and 114 degrees separation angle.
- New valve spring locks and retainers
- Heads milled .010
- File fit the rings
- New fly wheel and flex plate
- New harmonic balancer
- Pre-lubed and then run for 30 minutes on engine stand (Video avaliable)
- Then changed the oil again.

NOTE: I am not an engine guy. I just paid to have all this done to this original 1969 396 engine. Original heads used. But if you need to know the brand of certain parts you will have to talk to the guy who built the engine. Alan Steere of Schuyler Lake NY. Alan has been building GM engines for racing use as well as everyday use for decades and there were no shortcuts on this engine.
Video now available. Text me your phone number and I can send you a video of it running. The video is one minute long.
