Tire size idea

I need to put tires on the 68 C10 ad I am looking for a good size. The tires on there now are dry rotted and its just time. I believe that they rims are 7 or 8 inches wide will need to check into that. I believe original was the equivalent of 215/70/15. I am looking at 255/70/15 cooper cobra as a replacement but I see hankook and general grabber as well.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Re: Tire size idea

I personally run 255/60/15 in the front and 275/60/15 in the back, the 255 is a good width, i personally think it would look good taller in a 70 format. you can use sites like https://tiresize.com/comparison/ to compare different sizes, this is my truck, again with the stated tire sizes above. hope this helps.

Re: Tire size idea

I had 255/70x15 on 8" ralleys which a good/excellent tire size, especially if your running all the same size. I recently went to 265/70x16. I am not lowering mine, but wanted it to look a bit fuller in wheels well.

Re: Tire size idea

No problem. i love talking tires on these old trucks. everything looks good from big tires and chunky rubber to skinny factory wheels you cant do much wrong. 255/70/15 will also fit good on a 7 or 8 inch rim. i run 275/60/15's on a 8 inch wide rim and it gives a bulging sidewall which i think looks good.

Re: Tire size idea

Here are 255/70 15 Cooper Cobras on 8 inch wide rallys on my first C10 and it was at stock height. I've never been a fan of the smaller front/ bigger rear tire look.
