Brake pedal squeak help and suggestions

I have a brake pedal squeak I cannot find, I did a search here with not a lot of help. When I pump the brake pedal it is more of a chirping sound and it sounds like it is inside but I cannot tell. I have sprayed white grease and WD40 on the linkage under the dash and under the hood and no change. Possibly a worn bushing or the diaphragm in the booster? Any suggestions or ideas and maybe someone else has had this before.

OK, first off, and this is just my opinion, Ditch the White Lithium Grease (worst stuff you could ever use on a vehicle) and WD40 (unless it is the WD40 Penetrating oil) and get a good spray penetrating oil with Teflon in it like ZEP45, or something similar.

Does it make the noise with the truck running, stopped, or both?

There are two plastic bushings on the shaft that the Brake/Clutch pedals are attached to. Those may be worn out or really dry. Not saying that is your problem but it is a good place to start. Spray both ends of that shaft with the ZEP45 and press on the pedal a few times to work it in, and see what that does.

Report back.

If the booster is original, I would suspect that, a guy like me would live with it until it very obviously failed, but that's just me.

There is a bolt on the right side of the bracket by the tube that goes through the brake pedal. You have to remove the bolt and pull (pry) the pivot tube out of the bracket. The pedal will then pull down out of the bracket. Watch the spring it is a tough one.

Re: Brake pedal squeak help and suggestions

Quick and nasty may be a shot of motorcycle chain lube.....goes in thin and sets up to a lightweight grease. YMMV.
