i might get a free parts truck quetion on engine

pics of truck, engine supose to be 327, can annyone tell me if it is? I also got a pic of the end of head, can someone tell me if they are high perf... heads

its either a 283 or a 327 can tell by the oil fill on the front of the intake

With the 4bbl carb, is is most likely a 327, assuming it hasn't been messed with, and it looks pretty stock.

I'd defenitly take it for free!

man that thing is beat! lol but good score nonetheless....my best guess would be 327...other than that i dont know.

Engine?

Please post casting number on block behind drivers side head and head casting number on drivers side head towards front under valve cover.

See where I'm pointing...get us the numbers from there. You may need to clean/sand it first like I did. (friends engine before instalation last month)

The suffix code should be a y code for 327's. Also 307's had the oil fill same location. High performance heads would have double bumps.

Those look like the heads I have on my 327. The casting mark looks the same. I don't think they are hi perf. I think they came on the 307 too.

That does look like an original engine to me.
