Thanks longhorn, I knew about that but was trying to determine any other
info that might go with it, dtlilly said somethin about a certain number that
may designate longhorns ? not sure what he was talking about, if I recall
correctly when I looked at the glovebox it said 133", is that just because
it is a 1 ton ? or is it possible it has longhorn ties to it ? just curious, I am
looking to better my situation by trading my 70 4 t, guy is very interested.

Go to the smae page and look at the model numbers....or just click on the link in my signiture for model numbers.
Being a one ton will automaticly make it a 133 or 157 inch wheel base. Only if it came from the factory with a fleet side bed on it, would it be a longhorn. It could have came with a 9 foot step side, or nothing at all...just a cab and chassis truck.
Either way...what ever it was, you can make it a longhorn with just a bed.
The model number will be listed in the glove box on the option sheet.

Rod, very good point. I didn't even read it, just copied the info onto the thread.
So from your VIN alone, we know it is not a longhorn.

Well I'll try to answer a couple question in this post. The vins on a 1 ton wont say if its a longhorn or not...vins only tell certain info... more of a model number will tell if its a longhorn or not. I dont think anyone calls a 133 inch wheel base single wheel cab and chassis a longhorn, as its the box that makes it a longhorn as far as I'm concerned. I agree with Longhorn Man that whats posted eliminated the longhorn reality due to lack of a box explained in the vin. The vin in this case also dosent explain the wheel base being either 133 or 157... again the model number or actually seeing a picture would need to be known also. Really we had a picture of a dually here so its more just info on decodeing vins I'm writing about it here. 1 tons came 133 or 157 wb... but have have seen an extended 1 ton chassis also.

As for Gators vin... Another version of the GMC way of doing things.
KE1341Z50721

K = 4x4
E = eight cylinder
1 = 1/2 ton
34 = wide side- fleetside box
1 = Oshawa Assembly plant in Canada
Z =1970

sequence number is the rest
