finally bought a 4x4!!!!

i found another truck today, its a 71 1/2 ton gmc 4x4 longbox fleetside. 350/4spd. pretty much a plain jane truck but on the options list it shows tow hooks, but NO tow hooks..what a piss off, anyways its pretty well stock but it has duel exhaust, i need to find some ralleys for it and get some rubber, the truck has those ugly wagon wheels right now and some bald tires...what i want to know is what can i fit on the truck? it has no lift and i dont plan on lifting it anytime soon, can i fit 33x12.5s? or even just 33x10.5s? the truck is white with some real ugly blue decal down the side, what ive got planned is some ralleys/tires, new bumpers, and get an el cheapo paint job at maacco for the time being...sorry i dont have any pics but hopefully next weekend i will...just had to tell you guys cause im pretty excited!

Derek

31x10.50's will fit no problem. Should fit 32x11.50's. Not sure if 33x12.50's will fit without rubbing...

hey man, we still appreciate the look of the truck regardless of what shoes are on 'er...well at least I do. Just think it will be a little bit of a "before & after" to show us old shoes vs. new shoes... Pic's when ya can man. Excited for ya man...wish I could find another truck to use as my beater/daily driver. That would be heaven!

thanks guys, i think ill stick with the white for now, the interior is white also, with black dash pad, door panels etc, i just plan on cleaning it up right now and make look half ass decent...i plan on ordering some black carpet too, a new dash pad and maybe an instrument bezel, im pretty excited though because ive missed the whole tinkering thing, now that the 67 is complete i had nothing to poke around with but now the fun begins, also i know you guys think im crazy but im going to keep my eyes open for a 67-68 chevy front clip to swap over, ive got a straight tailgate allready waiting...gmc's are okay but you cant beat those chevys...

I put LT265/75r16 on my 70, (drum brakes) and they looked like they would just fit. I had a problem with backspacing and they rubbed on the tie rod ends. the 265's measure out to be about 31 in tires. I had to order longer wheel studs, and put a sapcer in to gain the clearance from the susp. they may have fit with different wheels but I had these take offs from my '98 K15.

I've got 33x12.50's on a 10in rim on my 72, they don't rub as long as you don't do any hard off roading. They are closer to rubbing in the back than they are in the front.
