Henry Morales Auto Electric
6909 Figueroa St. Los Angeles CA 90042 A friend turned me on to him. I also checked online reviews-all were positive. Hole in the wall sized shop in a tough neighborhood but he made ALL my electrical problems go away for $200. Hard to argue with that! PS Nice guy too. P.P.S. Post your results if you use him, ok? Re: Danny Boy is BAACK! w/ '55 Big Window
Hi Larry,
Yeah I'm really please with how it looks. Installing soon but got caught up in "While I'm in there" syndrome. Cluster was out so...I'll sand/paint the dash. Oh but two tone would look good...oh if I'm doing that I GOTTA do the kick panels, etc. Having truble figuring out hoe to remove headlight switch and cigarette lighter. But I'll figure it out so I can finish sanding. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Danny Boy is BAACK! w/ '55 Big Window
Hopped up,
I shouldn't have written "bad" neighborhood; it's not. Actually the neighborhood is better than it had been for a loong time. It's an old neighborhood and a working class neighborhood, but the residential parts are starting to get restored and even a bit gentrified where really nice architecture has survived the decades. Thank you Maximus, I'm trying. There's still LOTS to do but it is now reliable enough that I'd drive it anywhere within reason

I'm sure your buddy will be happy. What's he looking to have done? I need to take my '55 back to him because the resistor built into my headlight switch was broken and he wasn't able to make it work without a new one to allow me to dim the dash lights. It's not that important but I want everything to work as its supposed to. He also asked me if I wanted my signals to function as running lights like modern cars do? I told him no, but now I'm wondering if I should have. |

Well I'm at the gym pretty much everyday,so maybe I can check out your truck one day. I'm there after my regular job. That's my fun job. My friend wants to get a full wiring harness installed, got quoted a good price . He's gonna start posting on here soon too. Don't worry I'll tell them you sent me

Friggin killed by truck budget. I have a feeling this Henry guy would do it for a fraction of that cost. I'm itching to see what your friend's truck comes out like. |

Re: Danny Boy is BAACK! w/ '55 Big Window
Just a teaser on what I've been working on. It's taking me forever because of interuptions, but what're ya gonna do? Helping family move tomorrow...more delays.
Feel free to offer opinions as its not permanent. Its for "while I'm doing all the mechanical stuff". Later (someyear) when I get final paint on it all these colors may well change, we'll see. BEFORE (Whole interior looks SO bad I can't enjoy driving my now-great running truck. I'm too anal to leave it that way long) IN PROCESS, Krylon "Celery" color. It pops a lot more than these pic's show. "AFTER" - Celery with Rustoleum Sage green inset and Rusto Bright Metallic Chrome accent. Buggered it up a bit rushing to pull the masking tape. I'll fix it later either with touch up or possibly black pinstriping around the chrome paint. |

I only picked the two tone green interior because it goes with the green primer I used on the outside. Everybody's truck is primered in either light gray or flat black, and sometimes red oxide primer. I would have been ok with any of those but then I saw the green primer so I figured, "Why not be at least a bit different." I love red but many use it - of course because it looks good. I thought orange for awhile and lately I've been thinking an era-correct color like turquoise or a soft green kinda like the Celery green I used here. Time will tell. |

Re: Danny Boy is BAACK! w/ '55 Big Window
Nice job Dan! I have had good luck with green frog paint tape. It is sold at auto body paint stores. I have even see it at Hardware stores. Once again thanks for the swap on the emblems. With what I got from you and what I have I now have a good set to send to the plater.

THanks again for the door. I haven't had time t start cutting it up for the interior panel but its gonna work out great....if I don't bugger it up welding the patches in! Glad the emblems are helping you. Make sure you post before and after pic's, ok? Yeah, I've used the green tape. Part of my problem here was rushing, not so much the blue tape I used. I didn't prep this panel as well as I would if I were planning on it being a forever color scheme. |
