Re: PO has me PO'd
I'm glad to see the thread going again. I had to stop working on mine for all this time as well. I guess it's time to go back to work.

Re: PO has me PO'd
The war department (wife) has honey-dooed me to death this summer. I'll have to fire up the shop heater this winter. At my age I may never see the finished product. Let the games begin.

Re: PO has me PO'd
No torsion boxes, I plan to make 4 sheet metal trusses in that area and tie 'em to the body. Then have adjustable rub blocks against the frame. Cover the trusses with a removable skid plate... J.

Re: PO has me PO'd
Finally got around to some more work on the Jimmy. While working on and modifying the exhaust system, I noticed a leaky X case. Sure was nice to find shiny metal. Dropped this one down, with plans to put my extra case in, since it is already degreased and painted.
Now with that out of the way, I can finish all my welding on the bottom side, then get back to the exhaust system. Thanks to 6t727t2 I found an intermediate hanger for the pass. side. A little modification on both hangers and I should be good to go Here's some pics...

Re: PO has me PO'd
Nice progress...but it looks bad for me. Life has been a little crazy lately but I did find 2 guys locally that are into these trucks and have parts.
Keep up the good work.

Re: PO has me PO'd
I sure would have liked to ship the Blazer over here. It just wasn't quite ready to be on the road. Could have gotten it done over here though. I have the time. Anyway, keep cooking on it, you'll be done before me either way!

Re: PO has me PO'd
Its not too bad. Sasebo is a small town with a decent shipyard. The Mrs sent me by myself, the whole I have a career thing. She originally was going to go, but once she became the boss at work, all bets were off. If you go to Yokosuka, its much bigger and much busier. Its right in Tokyo, so no wonder. But down here, its nice and quiet. Would have been fun having the Blazer here too as most of the roads would only qualify as back alleys in the states.
