The rear panels are done! waiting in the front door pods to install the front component speakers and then it's time to tune in the sound and get this crew booming!

Re: Project Evil Tow Rig - '87 CC SRW Conversion

A question for you sir...

I am trying to decide how i want to do my speakers.

In the doors like you or down in the kick panel under the dash. Problem is i am building a work truck. Means i have work boots on, snow, mud, etc...

which of those two mounting options do you think is going to get the least amount of abuse?

Also quick throw back, with all the dynamate on the doors how solid to they sound when they shut. I want a good solid thud, and i was thinking about putting some on the inside of the door on the door skin as well as where you did yours. Any thoughts?

The door panel will be the best for you as your feet should never be back that far in the foot well. You'll just have to be careful when getting in and out of the truck. Since its a work truck, a few coats of spray-on bed liner should make the speaker pods nice and sturdy...

Thank you very much

Re: Project Evil Tow Rig - '87 CC SRW Conversion

Awesome work as usual!

I have a couple questions about your sub,
Are you worried about the sub touching the back of the seat and hindering the movement/tearing itself apart?
And do you have dimensions for that box?

Thanks

Base Depth - 6.75"
Top Depth - 2.75"
Height - 15.75"
Width - 33"

These are exterior dimensions and with 3/4MDF it makes for .7997cu ft.

The sub barely touches the back of the seat and it never hits anything but the soft foam in the seat. The sub shows zero sign of touching the seat, that leads me to believe everything is fine.

Remember, the crew cab has a very shallow area behind the rear seat and this was all I could fit. In a regular cab, this box would have tons of room!
