Re: My 70 2wd Project begins!

I decided to run Fbody headers which is what is suggested with this crossmember. finished some tweaking on the cowl and it should be painted within days!!

Here is Earl AKA Ebfabman fixing an issue I had with the cowl. I had to call in a favor to have him make some adjustments to gain clearance at the hood. Wish I would have had him do the work the first time. Lesson learned!

Long story short...due to the way I have my hinges fabed, when you first release the hood it wants to jump back just a little. When i got my gap at the hood right and even with the fender I needed some additional clearance on the driver side. So Ebfabman fixed it. I hope to make a video tomorrow!

Re: My 70 2wd Project begins!

One last "gap check" before final primer - sealer - and paint! I finally got the PS side hood gap where I like it. Thanks to a ton of help from my friend Casey. It is amazing the amount hours you can spend on this stuff. I can see orange in my near future!!!

Great work. those little touches of making the gaps perfect will make it that much nicer when done.

Re: My 70 2wd Project begins!

I have to agree - that thing looks amazing...especially when you compare the start and now...

Did you just swap rear axles to 5 lug or did you find a 5 lug rear and drop it in?

Re: My 70 2wd Project begins!

Won't you have to change the rear wheel offset to tuck those rims?

Yes - I have a housing from a 67 being powdercoated then I will swith out my gear and have my axles cut. Should gain about 3/4 of an inch on each side!

Re: My 70 2wd Project begins!

Couple of progress pics. I got the headers in and the steering shaft mocked up. The Ididit column turned out nice. I sprayed it to match the leather that will be on the dash and seats. Also started running wires...
