Good, I started runing into allignment issues with the bodies on a stand. I figured the best way to make sure they will be straight would be to place then in their final position on the frame. I need to pick up some body mounts, and bolt them back down to the frame.

very very nice welds. you are a PROFESSIONAL. I wish my welds looked that nice. What do you do for a living?

Are you going to box the rest of the frame?

I hope they look professional, it's what my friend Mike does for a living. He does precision prototype work for the aerospace industry, and is awesome at what he does!

Re: Crewcab build

Got some more progress done today, got the frame in front of the notch boxed, and started setting up the 4-link. I'm motivated now since I am moving out of my shop in a few weeks to my new house!

PrerunnerRob:

I would say Mike should do the welding...those welds look like TIG welds. Pretty sweet, considering they are MIG.

Very nice work you guys are doing. I can't wait for the next round of pictures.

Re: Crewcab build

Back from the dead! Did you ever figure out what you were going to do with the roof skin? You said the cab narrows as it gets to the front right? Does that mean the whole cab, doors, floorboards, ect narrow as you get to the front as well? If not why couldnt you split the roof skin down the middle, narrow it from front to rear to match, and remove/add a filler piece in the middle? Am I making sense?

Re: Crewcab build

Dang man. I wanna see this done. I thought long and hard about doin suicide doors on mine, but decided I wasn't man enough to figure out how to make it work. I love the look though. How are you coming with the roof? I've totally ignored mine for the moment. Figured I'd work out the doors first.

Suicide doors are my only option, I cant figure out how to mount a front pillar hinge without having an external hinge. Roof is not coming along, its my last part I need to do onlce eveything else is set. I do have an awesome sheetmetal guy available, my friend George will hopefully pull off a miracle with my roof!

Re: Crewcab build

Hey guys, this got put on hold for a little bit here while I move. I do now have a dropmember on the way, so I will be able to slip in my ls1 shortly. I'm hoping to be back working on my project this weekend, I'll keep you updated!

Re: Crewcab build

Back from the dead!

As of right now, the paint is drying on the Dropmember I recieved from Nathan at Porterbuilt. I can't express how superb the craftmanship is, how awesome the customer service is, and I'm seriously itching to install it! I will try to post a pic by pic install, I'll keep everyone posted on how progress is going!
