Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
OK, got the truck manifolds cleaned, painted and installed. Fit like a glove. Got the power steering lines re routed and hooked up. Used a fitting from an old pump (thanks to a generous board member who had an extra)and put it in the back of the 6.0s pump for the pressure line. Also got the trucks OE harness (or whats left of it) stripped down to a minimun and routed out of site to the starter, and oil press. sender and wrapped in the split loom. Still waiting on the F6 wrap for the rest of the harness. Once it gets here I'll wrap the engine harness and mount the computer and hook her all up. Once thats done I'll hit it with some throttle body cleaner just to hear her run until I get time to take it to the shop and remove the bed and do the fuel system how I want. I already have ALL the parts so it stinks waiting on time to finish it. Guess being busy at work is a good problem to have. Heres some pics before John says something!

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Great work! I got a couple questions for you. Are you running the 6.0's clutch fan or e fans? If your running the clutch fan, were there any clearance issues with the c10's fan shroud? Also, its hard to tell in the last set of pictures, but are you running the A/C compressor? Were there any clearance issues?
Nevermind - i just answered both my questions by looking closer. Sorry Last edited by buckshot305; 03-28-2010 at 06:26 PM. |

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
No fire tonight fellas. I did have time to wrap my harness and lengthen all the wires I needed to so I could route the harness where I wanted to. My girl was the best helper I could have asked for. She sat there all night and helped me solder and shrink wrap the whole thing! I am very impressed with the harness wrap. It's called F6 wrap if anyone wants to Google it. Heres the link to where I bought the stuff if anyone wants some. Here is the final product.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
oh yea, just wondering do you have to use the van's coolant reservoir? and how did you do your tranny cooler lines?

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
I did get the F6 kit and added 6 feet of 2 inch to do the main section of the harness. I should have got 1 1/2" because the 2 inch was too big. I havent hooked up the trans cooler lines yet but I am actually thinking of just hooking them into the factory cooler on the radiator. I am not sure yet though.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Silly question, why would I have to use the vans reservoir? Didnt know if there was something I'm not thinking about. I am just using the factory 86 reservoir now.
