Re: Show off your Wheels

Here are my 1976 Cal Chrome 15x10 rear and 15x7 front. Couldn’t afford Cragars when I was a kid so I bought these knock offs. I hit them with some chrome polish but the rust has gotten the better of the fronts. Looked into getting them re-chromed, can buy Cragars for what they wanted. Chrome work is expensive in CA.

Re: Show off your Wheels

I wanted my truck to look like something someone would have put together in the seventies. Custom made from Wheel Vintiques: six bolt, 17" chrome rallies with derby caps. Truck sits on a 1997 Tahoe chassis so it has that kind of backspacing.

Love those 10 inch wheels on the rear. Looks great.

I went from rally wheels in full trim to rally wheels with no rings to steelies with stock 72 caps on my '67 just in the last year.

Re: Show off your Wheels

Lotta good lookin trucks and wheels in this thread! Here's mine, with a few tire/wheels combos I have had. This truck has a '79 Camaro front clip, done the "No Limit way". It has the 10 bolt rear axle out of the same '79 Camaro

First picture: 18" Foose Legend wheels, 18"x7" in front (4" BS) with 225/40-18 tires. 18"x9" rear (5.25" BS) 275/40-18 BFG G-Force Sport Comp-2 tires. If you corner hard, there's no way that these would fit in stock tub opening. They'd be too close on inside and outside. With my '79 Camaro 10 bolt axle, I have good clearance to fender lip, but rubbed on bedside on both sides.

Second picture: 17" Boyd Coddington Junkyard Dogs, 17"x8" front and rear, 4.5" BS. 225/45-17" up front, and 255/45-17 Cooper tires. These fit, but rubbed while cornering hard. I found that out when I saw burnt paint on the inside of the bed sides. 1/4" spacers would have resolved this.

Third picture:
15" Cragar Chrome Smoothies. 15"x6" up front, with 3.5" back spacing. 15"x8" in rear, with 4.25" BS. BFG Radial T/A's 205/60-15 in front and 245/60-15's in rear. I bought a set of 275/60-15 tires, but would have needed a 1/4" spacer to make them fit without rubbing. This front wheel/tire combination is the only one that I have had that has not rubbed at all.

Curious if your wheels rub and would like to know the backspacing BUT... I guess that wouldn't tell me anything unless I knew what rearend it has and the width of it along with what front suspension it has.

Looks nice though. I really considered those for mine.

Re: Show off your Wheels

Here's mine, I have four and they fit my project perfectly. Today I fit the front fenders, really I meant the inner fenders as there was serious trimming involved and am one day closer to my first drive. Bob
