Re: 72 K20 build thread, need good name
Mike,
Sorry, not sure how I missed this post on the 23rd! Yes, I welded up that seam. I'm pretty much getting rid of any seams in the body. I am hell bent on stopping any future rust areas. This thing will float when I am done... Great to see you at Carlisle. Wish I had found some more stuff to buy, but funds were tight. Make sure you post some pics if you decide to weld the truck door hoop to that burb NOS door!

Re: 72 K20 build thread, need good name
i actually went with a new Hydroboost setup from Hydratech. It looks pretty sweet, but it will be a while before I get to installing it.

Re: 72 K20 build thread, need good name
I've been putting it off (for no good reason), but am starting to get the itch really bad. I am very close to painting the cab...all I have to do is final sanding of the primer and then paint away. I need motivation!! Today was perfect wrenching weather here too!

Re: 72 K20 build thread, need good name
same here, all I did was clean out my garage while I paid the roofers a few grand to lay shingles!
I did find my truck buried in the kids bikes, power wheels and basketballs!

Re: 72 K20 build thread, need good name
Well sort of...
I'm moving, which is bad... But I'm moving to a house with a larger garage and more land, which should help progress. Will post some pics and updates when I get situated in the next month or so. -Tim

Good luck with the move. Is it a voluntary or military move?

Re: 72 K20 build thread, need good name
It's a regular move. I'm paying an arm and a leg for a rental close to work. I'm moving 30 minutes farther away, but my mortgage will be less than a third of what I am paying in rent.

Re: 72 K20 build thread, need good name
Actually here it went down, at least for unmarried, by a hundred bucks or so. At least I'm grandfathered and it won't go down for me.

Re: 72 K20 build thread, need good name
No, that's another reason for moving. My girlfriend and I are parting ways, at least for now, and I won't be able to afford staying here. It's too big a house for just one person.

Re: 72 K20 build thread, need good name
sorry to hear that, atleast you have your trucks... how much longer will you stay near DC? You should look into the Active Guard/Reserve system if you want stability in an area. The Air guard has plenty of jobs out there...

Re: 72 K20 build thread, need good name
I was just checking to see how long it would be before someone noticed, so I am glad you care!
Basically here's the deal. I moved in February...bought vs renting at the old place. Now I have more land, lots more privacy, a larger garage, and the freedom to work loud, late and modify the workspace to fit my needs. Since February I have been doing work on the house, complete gut job. I plan to be done with this in the fall so I can start on the truck again. Just need to wire the garage for the welder and compressor and I am back in business. Oh, and I also bought three Dodge Power Wagons, a '56 and two '67s...the next projects!

Congratulations on the new place. Now hurry up and finish the remodeling and get back on your truck.
Post up some pics of the Powerwagon's when you can.
