Re: 66 c10 first timer build
So just line the tdc mark with zero on the tab then check springs, I want the springs to be compressed on the #1 is that right?

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
I haven't done it yet. Just put up some pics for the pic lovers. Will probably do it tonight. Actually, I really don't need to do it till we fire it up right?

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Definitely before you install dist to fire up. Both springs on 1 should be uncompressed

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Yes, the springs on number 1 NOT compressed. Now make sure the rotor on the distibutor is pointing to the number 1 post on the cap.

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Ok I just received my champion radiator and shroud and electric fan. I got no instructions on how to put it all together. Any pics or directions I can follow?

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Do I just use self tapping screws to screw the shroud to rad? And as far as fan mounting kinda confused, do I put the plastic pices that slide into the outside of fan then drill holes where they line up then use the long plastic strips to go threw rad and shroud then cap off on the fan?

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
I just have the rad sitten there I got to order two new rubbers for the top mount, and I guess I will need to bend the bracket a little becuase I tried with old rubbers and it was like it wouldnt go all the way down on it. Then I'll screw the fan and shroud on.
Also looking to get one of those smooth stainless canisters for the overflow. Also hereto get rad hoses, going with the braided steel ones I think Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Someone just mounted one of those trans coolers to the outside frame rail of their build, rear of the transmission.
Wish I could remember off hand who it was, but it was just this past week.
