Re: Project Blue Goose

Made another order with GMCPAULS for some more patch panels. I should have every panel needed and maybe I won't need them all.

Looks like a very nice cab! How's the rust on it?

Hey Mike,

There is some rust but IMO it's not that bad compared to the other trucks I looked at before I bought this one.

It needs both rockers, both toe kicks, driver cab corner, and one or two cab mounts have a few small holes. The door are spotless as well as the fenders and hood. The bed only needed a couple very small spots repaired.

I'm trying to get a place to repair the cab rust but if that doesn't happen soon I'm gonna be cutting into it myself.

I want to paint the fire wall and maybe the interior...

Re: Project Blue Goose

I have everything removed from the firewall, now I've moved on to the interior. I found the Ed Black Chevrolet decal scratching that I made in the ashtray. I'll have to have a new one made.

Re: Project Blue Goose

Well I got the cab all stripped down. The doors still have the glass and door latch mechanism in them. Found rust on the firewall where the heater box attaches.

Had some help from my son. He vacuumed the inside of the cab.

Re: Project Blue Goose

I also hosed the inside of the doors out. The was a lot of dirt that I was able to flush out and I would recommend for others to take the time and clean theres.

Truck is coming along nicely. Very tastefully done too. Can't wait to see the final result. May just give me some inspiration for my 68.

when do you expect to get it back? On a side note, have you received your seat covers yet, I still haven't got mine!

We didn't discuss a timeline, Boris doesn't mess around so I wouldn't expect this to turn into body shop jail

No I didn't get mine, I emailed him twice so far with no response since I placed the order. I actually want to add to my order and he still didn't respond but that was earlier this week. I might look for a phone number and call next week.

How's the baby boy? It's cool to just hold them and chill when they are new borns, even when they spit up

Who did you order seat covers from? I need same for my truck. I have sent 2 emails, pm, and phoned vendor here on our site, no response. Great choice in Boris, I've met him.

I ordered from Truckseats, I ordered new foam and seat covers. I received the foam but its been since February I believe on the covers. I new it would take a awhile but his communication or lack of needs improvement.

Boris seems like a who gets things done. I knew about Street Machinery, then I listened to an interview with Boris on C10 Nation and decided to call and talk to him about helping with the rust repair...

Thumbs up Re: Project Blue Goose

Same person I've tried to reach about a seat cover. If I could afford Boris, mine would be on a trailer now. I met him at the Hot Rod Power Tour several years ago thru a mutual friend. I have a friend who has bought and sold several trucks to him.
