Re: "One really slow build" thread
Get rid of the F@rd and build the Chevy. This is a Chevy site!! J\k Just do whatever feels right, if nothing does then wait til something "pops", and it will. Then you'll know what to do. That doesn't make any sense does it?

Leave the F1 or the 67 with me. Not a problem. I'm always willing to help a board member

Your enthusiasm brings back memories to when I was 19. Of course that was 28 years ago. Thanks for jogging my memories and good luck with your building project. Good things can happen if you have a plan and stay focused.

Re: "One really slow build" thread
You can always get another 67-72 but will you ever score another 69 Z28. Probably not. I would sell the truck to finance the Z.

Re: "One really slow build" thread
I would sell the Z to finance the truck, and another Camaro that isn't a Z, and let someone else worry with all of that original stuff. I'm not into original, I like big wheels and HUGE motors so it wouldn't be worth it for me to trash a rare care like that

Re: "One really slow build" thread
Store it in the shop, it is better than a CD or IRA account. It is worth an a$$ load the way it sits!

Re: "One really slow build" thread
I don't think Ima sell my truck, I kinda consider it my "first" truck beings how it's the first one I ever got on the road & drove
Plus it's won me an award & I intend to get some more with it !!! I think Ima have to bad @sses: my black truck for whenever I feel like & my Z for special occasions |

Re: "One really slow build" thread
Well guys, hope is on the rise !
I'm gonna put my truck back on the road soon !!! Plans include: put the bags in the back & do a small notch (temporary), Tune the engine up really good, install a shift kit, & get the front end aligned I think this will be ride height for a while, till I get more time & money (if I can get it aligned, so I'm not wearing out tires really fast) |

Re: "One really slow build" thread
So here is tha plan
Beings how I how low funds until I sell something, I have decided to wait on the headers & buy drop spindles instead I will put my ram horns on to tuck the exhaust up, till I get the money for headers It will still be a little while before it's back on the road, but I have been working on it some here lately Today I put the black cowl back on & painted to leaf guards black while I had them off (looks so much better) Also played with some wheel / wheel color Ideas I need to change out the carb & get it running right again Then put drop spindles on it & get the front aligned !!! After that, get the bags, tank, compressor, & valves on it Shouldn't take me too long, if I can just keep a steady pace on it !!! When I get the engine running right again, Ima put some crappy old tires on the back & do a burnout vid !!!! |

Re: "One really slow build" thread
Really good to see some progress on it. That last picture doesn't do it justice, tho.
Maybe finish painting it all Blitz Black would help. Like the look of the wheels, just wouldn't want that wide of wheels on the front. Keep on and you'll get there. Dad

Re: "One really slow build" thread
Thanks pop
I'm not sure on the wheels either I don't wanna put blitz on it cuz it's a "soft" paint & I don't wanna have to strip it all off to paint it shiny black (when I do) So I think that when I fix a section, I'll put sealer primer on it & then take it all apart when it comes time to paint it |

Re: "One really slow build" thread
Maybe DP40 in black will work. Need to know if it is weather resistant. Hate to have that perfect sheet metal rust thru the primer.

Spraybomb,
Could you possibly get me a picture of your exhaust pipe from the header back. Also how far back from the header is the muffler.I am trying to do an exhaust similar to yours. Thanks Cory
