That's badass man. Good job on that bedfloor. How did you figure out the length for the gas struts that holds up the hinged section? Happen to have a part number?

Thanks man. I went to a local Leer store (the company that makes camper shells and tonneau covers) and picked out some of the longest gas struts they had, like 36" extended, 80lbs of force each. Took them home and played with positions until I was happy. I bought 4 - 90 degree ball tip mounts for the struts. Then found out they hit my frame notch when closed. I took them back and ended up with some that are 20" extended and 120 lbs of force each. Played around again until they lifted the center to where I needed it to and tacked them on.

I can get you part numbers and measurements if you need them.

Re: "Old Olive" 1970 C10 porterbuilt build

You should add a valve and put air struts on there. Then you could flip a switch to raise it. Either way it's badass. Good work

I considered using electric actuators but my battery will be relocatea under the bed and I'd hate to get a dead battery and not be able to get at it! Thanks man, I'm happy with how it's turning out

I'll install one of those flush mount boat latches that flip up and use it as a pull.

Put the Boyd Welding tank in and set it up so the filler neck is flush with the bedfloor.
