Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Good to hear from you Chris !
Hope your healing well from your surgery, and can get back to your project soon. I've been plugging away at it, but it just doesn't go as fast as I would like it to. I want to have this on the road before snow flies again !!!! Just put in my new Red Head 3.5 turn lock-lock steering box yesterday and have a new power steering pump on it's way. The motor was a bit of a set-back, but it's over with now and I'm moving forward. 4 Body shops !!!! Holly Crap.... Hopefully this one will get the job done !!!! Gary

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Looks great. I'll take two Gary.
I'll be doing this mod as well, but I'll have to modify the brackets to work with my 4" lift.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Ya know Shannon, I only had to move my bracket forward about 1" with a 2" lift
So with a 4" you may get lucky and it will line up with your existing cross member ! Gary

If your referring to Shannon, his build thread is "Patches". But he recently had a baby and hasn't been doing much on the truck lately !

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Thanks !!!
Shooting to get the engine back in it this weekend. Painting it now, but the POR-15 drys slooow and takes a few coats to cover well. It might be good stuff in the long run, but I'm no fan of how it goes on. Drys so slow that it sags & runs. Horizontal areas are good, vertical areas run. Grrrrr....

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Made some good progress today, motors all painted & in the chassis, serpentine belt set-up is mostly on, fuel & water pumps, headers are on. Had to do some clearancing on the serp brackets and the high volume pump to make everything fit, but it wasn't much. The valve covers will get a fresh coat of paint and some of the hardware will get replace with shiny stuff.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Well I didn't realize my A/C serp bracket had the smog pump provisions on it until I installed it. Ugly.... So I just bought a bracket with out it. That will give it a much cleaner look.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Thanks Scott. The body shop is getting back to work on the bed today, so the chassis and cab will be going back to him soon to put it back together. So I've got a week or two to get it ready for him.
