Heat extractors are cut in now. I love this mod. Breaks up that huge hood and pulls heat out from the engine bay and sucks air through the radiator. Should keep it cool at track days.

Re: The Old Duffer

Saw your recent post on Facebook & decided to come check out the build thread. I haven't been checking in as much since mine has been on the back burner for over 4 years now, so I'm behind on so many builds. Just took time to read your whole build thus far, & it's crazy how much the truck has evolved in such a short time. I'm a bit sentimental, so it's always cool to see automobiles with family history. Not sure I'd have the courage to take grandpa's truck to the level you have, but I like where you're headed with the project. Everything you've done in the various stages looks like really clean work. I'd like to get some more info from you about the different folks working on the truck. We plan to live in the area long-term, & I like to have trustworthy resources when it comes to my vehicles. Trying to get geared up to get my '66 back going again now that we've relocated. Would love to meet you & any other 60-66 C-10 guys in the area sometime.

Likearoc13 I'm doing the design work & my boy Brent Buttrey (former Co-host of Muscle Car with Lou Santiago) is doing most all the heavy lifting. If you need work done I can't recommend him enough. He's honest and does damn clean work.

Cool! I almost asked but then read a post where you mentioned who did your powder coat. I read a thread on here once where somebody mentioned them doing nice work. A guy at the local Discount Tire told me about another place in Lebanon called Powder Tech that supposedly does good work as well. I accidentally contacted NitroPlate because they were recommended by the Little Shop in Lawrenceburg. However, they meant to refer me to Superior Sandblasting & Powdercoating who has done work for them. I drove to Nashville & talked to the owner in-person, & he seems like a nice guy. However, I ended up using a guy my dad's friend knows, who operates on a much smaller scale. No way I could've beaten the deal he gave me to do my wheels.

Who did your exhaust work?

Wish my truck was ready for Nashville Goodguys this weekend but it'll be LS fest before it's road ready. Can't wait!

Want to find someone capable of redoing my Tahoe exhaust from manifolds back to muffler. I'd like to have mandrel bends with stainless but don't know of an exhaust shop that can do that.

Are you planning to go regardless? Saturday I'll be there in the swap meet with my dad. He's driving up from Northeast MS to try & sell his rat rod. Never been to a Goodguys show before, so I'm looking forward to it. Although it doesn't look like the weather wants to cooperate!

Re: The Old Duffer

Brent has some talent. Must say I'm a little envious of guys like that who have the skills to crank out something in a day or two that would probably take me a couple weeks to do....and mine would still be a ghetto-fab hack job.

I think this truck needs a trip to the Lowcountry once you get it finished up!

Thanks Capt fab. Wish I had those skills too. It'd be a lot cheaper if I did.
