Appreciate the compliments. Hard to believe it’s been a 15 year work in progress. Guess they’re never done.

My co-worker does a nice job with his swaps. Just not sure why he starts with the wrong trucks...

How’s the k2500 been treating you on the daily duty? Did something happen to your work truck?

Lol some people can’t help but pick subpar ford projects for starting points on projects…

I’ve found in my life that the best projects are the ones that are more than 10 years in the making. I’ve got a few long haulers my self. It’s always fun to look back and see where they’ve come from and where they are going.

Man that old K2500 is such an awesome truck. I really can’t say enough about the GMT 400’s they really got the durability and longevity of them right. That truck has about 210,000 on it. and before mid may had been less than 1,000 miles in 10 years. From June of 2021 to September of 2023 I’d didn’t run a single time. I put a battery in it and 5 gallons of fresh fuel in the tank and fired right up. I parked it in 2021 because the input shaft seal in the transfer case was leaking and allowing the transmission to fill the transfer case. I replaced that seal and it mostly sat again for 4-5 months only being started up enough to keep the battery charged. Fast forward to May and I got a job opportunity 3 hours from my then home that I couldn’t turn down. So I surrendered the company truck and started making the weekly commute to Albuquerque and coming home in the weekends. I changed the transmission fluid last fall, the engine oil, valve cover gaskets, front and rear diff oil in May. Put a new set of wheels and tires on it and Drove it to Albuquerque. Coming home it killed a cv shaft boot like it did every other year when I was really driving it. I also had a rear hub seal leak a while back that killed the brake shoes. Fixed the leak but didn’t have time to put shoes on it then. The upper ball joints usually only last 20-30,000 because of the lift too. Last weekend I swapped the brake shoes, cv axle, and upper ball joints out.

For sitting as long as it has I’ve got maybe 500 in it not including the wheels and tires, (the tires were from 2010) and it’s running really really good, I’ve got cold 35* AC and all. It’s still got the original drivetrain in it and none of it has ever been rebuilt. Once I get into a new house I’m gonna build a shop and paint it but other wise it’s been a really really good truck. I’ve had it 13 years now and I’d still not hesitate to drive it coast to coast.

Re: Random pictures you took of your K

Here is a better pic of 59's wheels now 89-98 stock rally. Truck originally had 6.50x16LT on it - when I got it. Now 215/85x16. The spare is actually a 6.50x16LT Tubeless Nylon on the oe rim with 59 hubcap.
