Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine
Finished installing all my new bolts and screws thanks to Classic Parts. Driveshaft is ready tomorrow. Machine work takes forever around here. Then I am putting it on the flatbed and getting the body perfect at my buddies shop.

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine
Good Guys has shows all over the country. Is it a big show? Probably the biggest. Usually there's around 6,000 vehicles, it's insane.

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine
Wow, I will make it for sure. It would be cool to round up a bunch of frame laying C-10's. Get some good HD rolling footage. My buddy makes videos, edits, hangs out the back of trucks for sick shots. I will have to bring him along. I need to get my engine parts copper plated. I'm trying to take some awards and I think a copper engine bay may help. Even though I am building this truck for fun I like to win!

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine
Im sick w a fever which blows, because I am off of work but its 45 degrees out and I cant do crap to the truck. I snuck out today though and did a few odds and ends.
I got my new glove box trim in, I was going to paint it black and leave the letters chrome, now that I have it in person I think the chrome works well with the rest of the interior. ![]() ![]() I got my license plate light bolts in from China. $5 shipped and its nice anodized aluminum with foosten leds. ![]() ![]() Mirror is in ![]() Road legal. ![]() Body work starts at a pro shop in 30 days. By spring this thing will be siiiick. ![]() Once I feel better, I have the weatherstripping to install to adjust the doors, install sound deadener, mass loaded vinyl, and carpet. I have not ordered the carpet but I am pretty sold on 80/20 loop to keep it original in style. Once the truck is getting painted I will have the bench upholstered. |

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine
Vintage brass door knob as the new shifter. The grenade was the 1st thing I bought for the truck and I feel it didnt flow with the rest of how the interior was coming along.

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine
Here is a link to his store. Shipping took 10 days but the quality is nice and alot of places charge $20 or more for these.

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine
Im going to do a proper satin black with a clear coat. I really like the look of the black against the copper and I will be running chrome smoothies with shannon cones w 3 1/4" G78's so it will look pretty nice all together.
Then I will have the interior bench seat, door cards, and shift boot upholstered in distressed saddle brown leather. The real killer is I think this color combo will be amazing, but I do want shiny paint one day, so the plan is in a few years spray it the original seafoam green with white top and all the custom cab trim, etc. I am just not sure how the copper and brown leather would go with the seafoam green. The wife wants a 63 caddy coupe deville vert, so maybe I keep this thing flat and let hers be the shiny ride?!?!? Decisions, Decisions. |
