Great thread, good info for us Newbies. In looking at some of the SPID sheets, some list the YE9 codes with numbers, 45, 50,55, and letters, BB, after the code.....do those extra digits mean anything traceable....thanks

Good question - no, the extra numbers and letters don't mean anything, just the YE9 sandwiched in between. I still don't know why some plants use the extra digits and some don't.

Bought this about a month ago. Originally it was olive but I'm ok with the black. Haven't stopped smiling yet! Love this site and all the info it has. Great people and trucks!

Curious whats happening with this truck. If its being restored could you post some pics.

Ive always hated long steppers, my brother has a 65 and I used to give him grief about it all the time. But then here on the board some long step 67-72 4x4s were showing up that I really liked. And then some 2x4's that were really cool ... funny how tastes change =)

I think this long step would look very cool restored exactly as it sits in the pictures, even with the front spare, and especially the can on the step. But I know everyone would think this is weird, I would get rid of the buckets and put in a bench. I would love to have found that one.

Here it is
I just buffed it out
Still need to get it road worthy
Have no intentions of restoring it at this time
I, too like odd ball trucks
And to me this is the rarest, funkiest, ugliest, coolest truck
I have ever found
It is a true time capsule

Re: Post a real Cheyenne Super only (aka the defiinitive Cheyenne Super thread)!

I thought I posted this, but here is an early St Louis built CS.

I have wondered if this was the truck in the old Chevy commercial pulling the 747. How many 72 CS, 3/4 ton 4x4 factory orange came ordered with the DG6 "sport mirrors?" This truck was last titled in Everett, WA where the 747 plant is.....

Well, whether it is or not, I'd tell everyone it IS! Ha. Good question - definitely not common to see sports on a K20, and being in Everett... Hmm, agree, quite possible. Have seen that commercial many times - very cool, and your truck is absolutely beautiful. You have an interesting SPID. The less common dual listing of Cheyenne and Cheyenne Super together, have seen a few times, but not many. Also, the RP9/blanks (which I believe is a specific whee'/tire combo) and YD3-4-5-6 base equip tires - together. Nice to see this as a resto, great truck.

Re: Post a real Cheyenne Super only (aka the defiinitive Cheyenne Super thread)!

Wow, nice stepper Eric. Did it have upper and lower trim on it? I see some holes or rock chips, can't tell. Just curious. I'd have assumed it came with it on the cab, but the only one I've seen similar (I posted in post 41 of this thread, and the ochre one you posted) didn't have it either - so rare though, hardly ever see any to compare it with - or at least to compare SPIDs anyway.
