Thank you. I'm really getting excited about finishing this truck. The shop is on a big push to finish another project by July so I've been the only one working on it lately when I can (with plenty of oversight). Hopefully the ls harness and ecu arrives next week. We still need to finish the exhaust but other than that it's ready to fire.

Thanks, man. I ordered the blue houndstooth seat cover yesterday from Brothers. I also went with the "bright blue" carpet. Do you think that is the right combo? I'm planning to run black floor mats and black steering wheel. We left the column black too to tie in with the gauge panel. Hoping it all works. Did you ever finish your seats?

Also, you can see the rear discs in the final picture. They are an 11" caliper and look really small in the 20" rim. We might end up buying bigger brakes.
UPDATE - Just wanted to correct this post for my own benefit. The tire sizes are actually 255/45/r20 front and 285/40/r20 rear.

Thank you. I haven't had a chance to do any work on the truck recently but hope to in the next week or so.

Re: '68 c10 build

I got a little done yesterday but didn't take any pics. I finally finished the ds wing window so all the glass is done. I also got the windshield wipers installed.

The following pics are pretty cool I think. They are having a rocker/cab corner party at my dad's shop. The black truck (72 fleet) is my cousins. He trailered it here from Texas. The red truck (72 step) is my nephews.

Re: '68 c10 build

Brief update: I spent a few hours on the truck last Friday. The truck is fully wired for the most part. I need to finish the tail lights once the bed is on and install and wire the Vintage Air. I also need to install the ls harness. However, I have to say it was exciting to turn the key and hear the fuel pump cycle for the first time though.

Re: '68 c10 build

Last Thursday the shop got the Vintage Air unit installed and wired. My goal in the next week or two is to re-cover the bench seat and get the interior pretty much complete.

Finally is how we are routing the ac lines into the engine compartment. These are just in there rough right now and will be cleaned up when it's all said and done.

Re: '68 c10 build

This morning I ordered the complete bed (minus the wood floor). I ordered the bed sides, front panel, and tailgate from Classic Industries. The were offering a 25% discount through 08/09/2017 so it was basically free shipping. I ordered the cross sills and tailgate latch/handle assembly from Brothers.

I also installed the new seat cover on the seat back. Ran out of hog rings so I wasn't able to finish it.

The engine compartment is pretty much done. I still need to order a coolant overflow. I'm also not sold on this air cleaner. I may replace it with a cone style.

Re: '68 c10 build

Now for the exciting part. We fired the motor! I'll see if the videos will upload. The first video is legitimately the first time we fired it. Second bump of the key and it lit right off. It jumped around for a few seconds and died. The second video was about 15 seconds later and it was purring like it was supposed to. We have not installed mufflers yet and I was impressed at how quiet it was considering it is uncapped.

We had a small tranny leak on the coolant lines but fixed it. Everything else seems good to go. Good oil pressure, fans kick on, etc.

What a weight must be off your shoulders. That is some fantastic progress. What are the bolts for in the firewall behind the motor? Also do you plan on running a center air vent?
