Re: Plus Five
New Years update,
I don't have any pictures, but made some real progress. I painted the emissions lines and put new emissions/fuel hose on the lines and new stainless hose clamps so that is all complete. I also completed several wiring harness tasks. I completed the Radio,A/C, cigarette lighter, motorized cowl vent, wipers, headlights, turn signals, horn, third brake light, backup lights, sport mode, overdrive lockout button, LED dimmer, high/low beam dimmer, ignition switch, interior dome/courtesy lights, front hood tilt, power seats, park brake light, cooling fans, engine harness, check engine light, etc. In fact, I think everything is wired up except the two round gauges. I'll make a separate harness for those two. I installed the fuses and so far everything works! I even bumped the starter a few times....

Re: Plus Five
Just read through your whole thread and I'm blown away by your fab skills and attention to detail. Funny how all those systems that you didn't have a "comfort level" with seemed to get finished up like you had been doing it for years. Looking forward to seeing you finish her up.

I am hoping it won't be an epic fail! I have plans to have friends stand by with fire extinguishers for the First start up. Wiring has me a little nervous. Hoping for start in February

Re: Plus Five
Ok,
I'm on the road again tonight, and have a question about my transmission control. I have the Connect and cruise supermatic transmission controller and the harness included a wire labeled "brake light". The instructions read as follows; 2.2.9 Brake light wire Although not necessary, the wire labeled "brake light" should be run to a factory brake pedal switch (NC) so the TCC will unlock When you apply the brakes. The switch I have has six terminals, some NC and some NO. Is the tranny looking for a 12 volt + positive or is it looking for a ground to be supplied to this wire? Thanks

Re: Plus Five

Re: Plus Five
the install of the gauges was a pain...
they come in from the back and there isn't much room. speaker covered in fabric, epoxied on the back side.

Re: Plus Five
I made up short gauge harnesses to make the installation easier,
but the gauge brackets and bezels were a pain in the.... Glad that is behind me. Now there are just a few wires left, brake switch, turn and high beam indicators, hood tilt switch and the wiring will be finished. I'll have to check all the lights , then it's on to filling the fluids, and bleeding the brakes.

Re: Plus Five
I used the original glove box latch, but had to rebuild it.
The pivot piece has little round pins molded into it that were nearly worn off. I took it apart cleaned it up, and drilled it out for a new pivot pin. I made the pin from coat hanger wire. I sprayed some white lithium grease into it, readjusted the striker tab and it closes like new.
