Hey man. Hadn't been on in a while. Hate to see that about your bed. Yeah my truck came from TX and had some dents and scuffs on it. How the heck does that stuff happen? Some careless dumba$$ that don't give a crap 'cause it isn't their stuff.
What about those pulleys though? They fit? I want some dressup for my engine too, what pulleys would I need with 2 belts, no AC?

This is where the kicker comes in... I have measured and have only got to play with it a little but lining up the water pump, power steering, and alternator dont seem to be an issue... but getting the dang crank pulley lined up seems to be the issue.... with you having the stock damper shouldnt be an isssue... When I get done with final exams this week, I will have time to play with all of it more, ultimately I am at war in my mind over whether to keep the SBC SFI spec 18.1 harmonic balancer and build new brackets or to ditch it turn down my rpm to max out at 5900 and put a stock one on from dorman and call it a day.

Well got my new P-trim .68 tangential turbine housing in yesterday afternoon and well guess what it doesnt clear the motor mount/frame rail and so now I have to figure out whether to try and scour the nation to find a .69 a/r on center housing and then shell the cash out for it, or try and fabricate a mount to clear the frame and maybe have oil draining issues.... with the drain line at a 40* angle.... HP never comes easy or cheap grrrr.....

Ended up buying the MSD HEI from him with the external coil so that it is easier with my a/c setup and the billet side covers.

Any update on your new bed the shipping company smashed up?

A couple weeks ago, one of my customers had a shipment damaged by a shipping company. The receivers of the shipment were refusing to pay my customer until the damage was repaired. That is a payment of over $100,000 that is being held up because of idiots that work for that shipping company. And consequently I can not get paid yet either

Paperwork has been filed... haven't heard anything yet! I will be making some phone calls here today yet. I really need to start getting some of the body work done on it and use it to line up my fuel cell and the hitch's so I can get it back together sooner than later.

Well got a little work done today... I volunteered to build sail boats for the National Mississippi River Museum for the kids coming up in a few weeks and got 100 of them built... then got my motorcycle fender all stripped down to metal and got it primed as you can see in the second pic. and finally got a little work done on the truck.

Got the power steering mocked and the A/C mocked. Turns out i will have to cut the bracket on the power steering and weld in a chunk to fit around the manifold. And the billet pulley I chucked up in the lathe and cut off the back pulley as it was for a SBC and the front pulley is the exact same dimension as the L6 power steering pulley.

Mocked up A/C bracket turns out it wont work with either HEI distributor that I have... So i am going to find out if Malloy's Electronic Pickup ignition for the Points distributer will work with a digital 6 plus MSD box. If it does looks like I will be going that route. If not I will be mocking modifying the bracket to raise it ~2.5" to clear my MSD HEI distributor.

Looks great! I'm at about the same point as you in my build. Stuck on fuel pump though. Just read you are doing a stock '84 fuel pump, just boost reference the bottom from after the intercooler?

You will want to run the boost reference from the carb hat... this way it is most closely representative of the pressure that the fuel bowls are seeing that way with the 1:1 ratio your base pressure remains 6-8psi (on the 1984 stock pump or 4-6psi with all other years) plus the boost pressure. If you plan on running a 4bbl carb you need the '84 pump as base operating pressure with those carbs is 6psi. I am not sure how much boost you plan on running but this setup is only good for about 10lbs which is a 1.68 multiplier times your base n/a hp to get your calculated hp under this load if its not enough you will need to get an electric setup like a aeromotive boost referenced ($$$$$$) as most standard electric pumps will burn up being used as boost referenced pumps.

Actually I am at the point where I need it so I can get finished! I need it to be able to line everything up for my gooseneck hitch and fuel tank! And the stickler is I cant even put it on to take measurements because its still bolted to the crate and if they need to inspect it, it has to be on the original crate.

Here ya go! This pump is for a 1968 Camaro inline 250. I like it better because the resivor is integrated. The brackets came off of a 1976 nova.
