Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
HAHA, sorry guys. I always take my photos as huge files, around 10K megs and then edit them down. It takes a while... But here we go. As you can see, the motor is getting buttoned up. Power steering pump is one, new pulleys on. All the killer ARP 12 point polished hardware is on. Also Del got the rear end powder coated and fully rebuilt with Posi, new gears and new bearings and axles. Looks like the frame is just about dialed. Just need to runs some fuel, air and brake lines. I hear wheels are coming soon!!!
Also a few more shots of the cab. Aside from some small holes in the rockers, this thing is solid! This is my favorite view. Next time im going to polish the back side of the cab so its dialed when we put the body and bed back on. Pics of the 65 in just a few...

Nice trucks! I've liked Gumby for a while now, but the 65 looks sweet! It makes me want one too.

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Thanks guys! I will get some more photos together of both trucks for you soon. This week there is a ton going on already and its only Tuesday morning. First thing on the list is to knock out a steering box issue on the old lady's Shoebox.
A bunch of parts showed up for the 65 also so this weekend I will be getting going on dialing that truck in.

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Just a quick update, Del got my rear wheel tubs all modded up to fit the big 22's Sectioned and lengthened. Paint is next.
Just had to share this one. I spotted it yesterday on the streets here just rolling! Impala SS lifted on 26s... Donk! I have been working on the 65 and I will share some photos soon.

I got all my audio stuff in the mail, nothing major, just a stock style head unit that has an Ipod hookup, and some under the seat speaker boxes. At least now I will be able to have some sound out of Gumby. Pretty amazing at just how far it has come so far. This is where I started. And here is where we are today. Pretty close to being a truck again. Thats the exciting part for sure. When we all get a look at it sitting on its wheels and laying on the ground.

If you don't mind, which under seat speakers boxes did you go with?

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Thanks guys. I like the 65 but I think its going up for sale shortly here. I am going to list it here in the classifieds and let a board member get a shot at it. We have to update the family car so the 65 will need to go to a new home. PM me if interested and I can supply details.
As for Gumby, yes the tubs look killer and good things are starting to happen at Dels magic shop!
