Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
Getting my 64 together. Still has the 230 straight six and 3 on the tree. Truck was an original surviver. Someone had put different tires and wheels on it, but that was about it. I went in and re-did the bed with red oak. Put the spun aluminum gas tank in it. Put 245/60-15 coopers on the front and 255/70-15 on the back. Painted the wagon wheels that came with it. Dropped the front 3 inches and the back 5 inches with springs. Loving the truck. Just got my historic plates passed and I'm ready for the road!

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
heres mine..... Its my everyday driver and is doing pretty good on gas. I'm in the middle of putting in a 4L80E trans. The turbos took the 700R4 out of the game almost instantly. Sux but boy it sure was fun doing it !! It has power windows, power steering, A/C. Nice stereo , air ride, sway bars and GM disks up front. 3:73 posi. I want to add big baer brakes in the next couple months.
I've been on this site for a while and love some of the menbers rides. All diffrent types. Oh. its a 66 suburban. basic hotrod stuff..... I am having a blast with it !! see ya ! steve keech sarasota florida |

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
Thanks guys.. If you haven't poked your heads in the racing section of this board, you should. There are some other really fast trucks there on this site.

3,850 with me in it. Should be deep in the 10's on the 300 shot. I might try and push it in to the 9's with some glass and things..

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
That is simply Bad Ass Super73!
'63 are my favorite.....I have a '63 swb that I've been wanting to build for street/strip, but haven't got there yet. I've been to the racing forum a couple of times....I'll have to make a point of it to check on your progress. Keep up the great work!

How fast can you go before you have to install a cage?

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
11.49 or slower and you don`t need a cage. After that you need at least a 6 point bar.
