Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
thanks Dale. just cant belive revell would RE-ISSUE with so much wrong....
whats that old saying, enjoy now, pay later, well i "Mastered" the moment... my casters free shipping sale runs out on the 28th, so i threw another order in. wife was a little ticked at first, but all the parts are for re-builds so there's no initial kit cost..... a Cameo i built back in the early '90's, paint is starting to peel & roughen up. ordered some 41" Ground Hawgs for it i'm not crazy about having 2 junkers on the go, but on the rain train i'm getting bored waiting for parts. this is my other dually, '94 C3500. a cheap snap-tite that i had to add a motor to, going on 38" swamps. another '90's build, this is what it looked like yesterday.... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
....this is what it looks like now....
a trip in the stripper rear window broke on disassembly, not to concerned, it had a big glue blob on it anyway.... the suspension on this one is going to be a CHALLENGE! still working on how i'm going to make it work, the front i'm not worried about-SAS re-did the int for it, not so much black now |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
well, end of the month, but still no beer....spent the day driving to the hobby shop & blowing more money, mostly styrene supplies, just cant control myself in there.....
first attempt at loping off the 2wd a-arms, didn't care for it second attempt will work better for mounting shock hoops. if your wondering about the styrene on the back of the frame, go look at a '88-'98, i hate that you can see right threw under the box.... seeing how the bed bottom was attached to the old frame....new bed & rails. ended up chopping the fuel tank in 3 pieces, some aluminum pop can straps should hide the cuts cant wait to sling them swampers under there.... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
yeah, the color just kinda jumped at me while i was standing in front of the paint rack....
just finished the '77's interior & was prepared for a wait, till i got home from work & found this in my mailbox, the first of 4 order's to roll in, real good timing! 1 visor, some BBC valve covers, couple D60 diffs, couple of 205's, bunch of rotors & calipers, most of a dually rim set, & a whack of 38" swampers. unfortunately 1 front dually rim did not show up..... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
The green looks great. So do the swampers on both trucks.

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
thanks Dale
well, looks like i got hit in the head with murphys law-again.... months & months of searching, countless hrs looking everywhere for stepside fenders, buy an expensive set, & then buddy on a diff board is giving me this old busted up "Sneaky Pete" model. now i'm at a real dilemma, i'll have another cab to play with, do another truck, or take the cab & turn my '77 dually into a crew dually. i already have a SRW crew, dually crew would be a nice match..... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
still undecided, would like to have one of each...but, i see Ron has updated his site & has mid '70's crews for $45....hmmm
http://www.rmrmodels.com/Products.html jeez.....2 trucks on the go.... visor was to big for the ext-cab, too small for the '77 instead of shortening or lengthening, i scratched one up. with a little more work i think it will pass for a lund.... the '77 is getting the 454, only modern tbi motor for the ext-cab i had was this 350. pic is a few days old, have the front dana 60's for both assembled, & front springs are in the ext-cab |

Wow! I wish I had the patience and the talent you guys are doing on your die cast models. Just curious, are the parts expensive?

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
got a notice in the mail today, one of my steppers has arrived, pick it up tomorrow
have'nt done much for the '77, need them fenders to set the height....so i have got a little on the x-cab done, been cranking off some serious hrs last couple weeks at work, 14 days with hardly a drop of rain.... just about finished with the springs, setting the height started some reservoir shocks like the height, i'll go with it.... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
went & picked up my stepper from the P.O., the sneaky pete, i think the posties must have been playing football with it
the guy put all the loose parts in the ziplock, the knocked out engine, busted frame, & all the other assorted parts got knocked off in transit AND of course, the real reason for it & the only parts i really need......2 piece fender..... finally got the right style fenders, but they dont fit worth a darn... kinda glad i got the x-cab on the go, about 3 hrs of farting around on 1 fender.... took a break after this & finished the susp on the x-cab starting to resemble a dually now.... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
That sucks about the broken pieces. It looks good sitting on it's own . Nice job on the fenders. You can always send some rain this way, we can sure use it.

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
yeah, the fender was a bummer, but i ended up cutting off the bottom anyways....
and yes, i wish we could send our rain down to ya! should have kept my mouth shut about our sunshine-sky opened up fri nite & is supposed to last 'till wed.... not looking forward to the '77's other fender, been kinda avoiding it, but i got the '96 pretty much ready for paint though the bush guard i modeled after the one on my buddy's '92, added some flaps, valve stems, hubs, all the shocks are done. just have to make some d-shafts & exhaust. i have some touch up paint from my 1:1 '90 stepper i will be using for color... printed up some mud flap decals, want to use the Lordco ones (my fav local auto parts supplier) but the blue mite clash with the body color, so made some chevy ones just in case.... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
whadda ya know....
when you paint a red plastic body with white primer you get.....nice shade of pink just (like right now) finished un-masking, need to clean the edges & detail & clear... everything is done & painted, just need a few hrs to jam it together |
