Re: original (not modified) truck pics

Love this thread, it's getting harder and harder to find trucks in this condition, keep up the good work ! Original steering wheel, matching numbers original motor I changed the carb and added headers but kept the originals. Rides on 4 drum brakes I love but my wife wants me to put on disks so she will be more comfortable driving........nope!

Re: original (not modified) truck pics

you are correct 68bowtie I remember these new when I was 13 years old. Thought that they were a good looking truck back then. My first was a 1968 2wd long bed in 1974. Went completely thru that truck and back then , even was a real head turner. Have been hooked on these ever since. The red one posted is a keeper. I also must be young at heart .

My all original 70 Longhorn. First pic is from about a year and a half ago the day I brought it home. Zero rust, never driven in snow!

Has had a repaint and a little rust repair but a great original drivetrain driver.
Still has the date stamped wood bed

Re: original (not modified) truck pics

I sure like looking at all the original trucks. I don't think I ever posted my '72 K2500 Sierra because it's not 100% original. But, it is unrestored with only a few typical add-ons from back then to enhance it's use. Things such as cargo hooks, it had truck air shocks, a 5th wheel set-up in the bed, saddle tanks, trans temp gauge in extra hole, and SunTune tach stuck in where factory tach goes. It also has a Bartens bumper, slide-out spare, big trans cooler. The original owner ran a vacuum tube into the dash and mounted a vacuum gauge, too. This thing was set up to haul.

I bought it in '01 and the first thing I did was put a set of 9.75 steelies on. So, that's another non-stock thing (but, era add-on). First picture was on the way home with it, 9.50 tires on stock 16.5 wheels. Next with big tarz and more recently with 235/85s on 16" GM wheels

Re: original (not modified) truck pics

I was noticing the dates and wondered when they would start creeping up to now. They didn't! When I saw the thread yesterday it didn't seem unusual, like it has been showing up occasionally. Time flies! I miss having Dad's Longhorn around. I wonder if she is still putting that cherished Chevy around

Surely we have some originals left to add. I'm out on pictures for now. Just had to get a new 'puter. Hopefully I can snag my stuff off the old one.

this one is original except wrong year hubcaps. But certainly not modified. And very nice!

Re: original (not modified) truck pics

How about a not so nice very close to original? Still has original 283 with oil bath breather listed is the SPID. Original steering wheel and interior stuff except someone has installed a seat from about a 1990 Chevy. Comfy but I may go back to an original in time.

Still had the dealer installed rear bumper from the very town I live in. Not sure when the dealership went out but it was a long time ago.
