You're really doing a great job on that truck.
Thanks Chris! With you and your wife's trucks I take that as a serious compliment.

I appreciate that, but our trucks together aren't as nice as yours!

What's your time table for getting the 7 inchers on?

And the final shots.... just so you know, the key is no longer there.

Needless to say, I am stoked!!! The tailpipe is tucked up real nice to the frame of the truck, and you really can't see much without bending down to get a closer look.

That grille came out really good, glad you have the patience to do that cause I know I dont...

How about a sound clip of what the exhaust sounds like...

Thanks! It took a little bit of time, planning, and prep; but I'm happy with the results.

Just a little time and effort is all it will take; and the good thing is that if you mess up, it's easy to clean it back off.

Re: Project: Blank Slate

With a week off from work, I was able to get a ton of things accomplished on the truck. From my previous posts (new exhaust) I was also able to: finish painting the 15x7's and get the tires swapped over to those rims, paint the 15x8 rears, wax the entire truck (inside/out/under the hood), change the oil, remove the seat/carpet,.... and a ton of other small projects accomplished. I don't have a ton of pictures, but I will post what I have.

Here's a shot of the items I used, and they include Meguiar's wax, Mother's carnuba wax, Metal Gloss, NAPA window cleaner, and Ruglyde. The reason for two different waxes was this was the first time I used Mother's wax product, and after dumping the first glop on my microfiber towel, it seems rather thin. So, I got to thinking, "If one coat is good, then two would be better."

So, I proceeded to wax with Mother's followed by Meguiar's which seemed to provide a think layer of wax/film. I also started to tape off the trip and what not, but by the time I got to the driver's side door, that idea was gone, and I just cleaned as I waxed.

sourkraut.... we actually installed a turbo muffler, and from comparing it to the muffler that was on it when I purchased the truck (possibly the original), it's actually sounds the same. It has a slight rumble when it's idling but it doesn't get loud and glasspacky. I will try to get a clip posted after I figure out how.

Now for some drastic changes...

We finished mounting the wheel caps and trim rings, and finalized all the waxing/polishing. I think it turned out perfect!

Just a quick shot of the items we used to change the oil; if plans stay true, the motor/tranny will be removed this winter for an overhaul.
