Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
My theory is they went on a TN moonshine bender and ended up getting locked up. There may or may not have been a brawl at the dirt track. No wi-fi in jail (so no pictures or updates) and they still haven't made bail yet.

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
We certainly have some more NC adventures planned for Monroe, he will actually be making the trip with me and hopefully the wife to Carlisle for the truck nats. There he will be making the transfer with his time with Special-K. I hope he can do some heavy lifting as I need a hand loading the trailer to prepare for Carlisle. There is always plenty to do on the C-10 farm

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
Poor little guy's been sewing his wings off , if you notice we're up at 3:00 am trying to avoid the 110 degrees in my "sweat" shop during the day . so it's time for him to go back in the box this morning and off to his next stop with GR8-68 then to special-k for Carlisle , He's been taking his breaks hanging out with my rooster and I don't want my rooster picking up Monroe's skater additude so off he goes on some more adventures ...

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
Well my wife is preparing our home for the guest that will be arriving soon. We really look forward to spending some quality time with Monroe, hopefully the heat and humidity breaks a bit so I can adventure around Belews Creek with Monroe a bit and show him a few things I enjoy to do here in North Carolina. I am sure he will be excited to meet our lone hen "Cletus" she sure has been lonely since the others have come up missing so I am sure she will be excited to meet Monroe.

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
OK, here is the deal, and I don't want to sound like Debbie Downer. I'm saying this to everyone that is playing along. And honestly I really appreciate everyone that is putting them selves out there. And I'm pretty sure all of this is spelled out in Monroe's traveling box.
Monroe needs to be kept moving. Take him a few days, give or take depending if you have a Sunday in there. I realize this means some of you will have him at perfect times to do extra cool stuff, and other it will be cool stuff, just, with the family cool stuff. Which incidentally is most often the best times shared. Guys please don't keep him extended periods. We have done this before on the board and we know how it effects the thread. And please send him to different states to keep it interesting. Obviously he will be in several states more than one time, just keep it spread out. I think one of the mistakes I made this time is not putting board names on the labels. I figured if you volunteered, gave me the days you couldn't have a visit that was all the info we needed. But we have seen how that worked out. So I will be sending the board name info to special-K to add to the labels. That way the person that has Monroe can shoot a PM to the person he picks to send him off to. We already in the very short time this has been going had two people keep him a total of two months and absolutely no communication or pictures. I hate having to post this in whats meant to be a fun thread. If this doesnt work out I have one more idea to make this fly. Im going to wait for the next few guys to filter through though. Thanks!!!

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
Grumpy offered Monroe to me next and I asked if he could go to someone else between so he would land here before I leave next week. Larry was to ship him on Saturday to assure he got here by Tuesday. He probably won't have him till tomorrow. I suggested just bring Monroe up. It means Larry has him a little longer but that's basically the days Monroe would have been in shipping. This may stretch the time that two members would normally have him by a little, but I was thinking it will also add a whole lot more members to being involved than just two for that time period. From the 14th till today Monroe was with two members. I figure he'll get to Gr8 68 on the 28th, that's two weeks. I'll be sending him off that Monday, so I think it all works out about the same. I didn't want to slow things down. I was thinking there would be plenty of content to keep this alive since there will be no "In the box" time between

I tried to keep Monroe away from the local "spring water " but it seems he found his own ...http://
He wandered around and found a few old trucks, http:// He even found my "stash" in the barn http:// He was checking out this 292 http:// And he wanted to sew some seats up but had a problem holding onto anything but his drink, err phone , http:// More pictures to come ...

That 292 runs great but is on its way to the machine shop for a total old school performance rebuild, tri power carbs , new cam and lumps ,stainless valves etc. I have a "few" projects going on .

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
Well good news, Monroe has arrived at the Belews Creek post office. My wife just texted me and said she is on her way to pick him up so he doesn't overheat in his box. I am sure Monroe is very hungry by now, glad we had chicken for dinner last night instead of tonight.

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
He got into some ol Grumpy "spring water" (see picture above )that stuff they sell is NOT real moonshine . the boys making their own have secret recipes and you really can taste the difference from one to the other .once you involve the government in the mix you take away from the real deal . The local stores sell the state approved varieties for upwards of $25.00 a quart +tax , Local "spring water" $15.00 and smooth as a babies bottom

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
I had a hard time keeping him from jumping into the farm truck once he found out there was a chicken auction on Saturday ...little booger grabbed my wallet and tried to hot wire my ride ! it's kind of hard to skate board across the pasture . we almost had chicken ala Monroe for dinner that night
