Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean
Just thought I would check in. We got the motor and transmission in. We had the block painted and then ended up putting it back in the paint room again. The oil pan was chrome and we decided to sand it down and paint it orange as well. I am still thinking about doing alot of black accents and getting rid of most of the chrome. The intake manifold and valve covers are polished but I am leaving them for now to see how this color decision proceeds.
We have a Camaro in the shop and here are the seats out of the car. I really want some small seats in the truck and thought I would slide this in just to see the size. I still have my factory c10 seats but I don't want to use them.....they sit too high for me. |

I would use the stock C10 seats with a modified/lowered seat height.
Your progress looks great!

Hell, I like 'em. A nice set of dimple died support brackets wouldn't hurt either.

I think the oil pan would look better in a satin black... It seems like a little much orange, but thats just me! What about anodizing that intake manifold black?

I have had stuff powder coated but have not tried anodizing. Have you had parts anodized before. Is the cost the same?

I havent actually had stuff anodized before, but I know for a fact that the black looks cool as hell! The aircraft I work on, all the metal parts are anodized black. and it looks pretty awesome

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean
The color on that fender looks awesome.....I will also agree on blacked out wheels they will pop with the trucks color. The detail on that frame is definetly show worthy!!!! Would love to see this truck someday in person..

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean
I have been doing a little work on the truck and will post some pictures in the next few days. My calipers were delivered today via ups and I couldn't wait to bolt one on. Wow the Z06 calipers are massive I knew it would be close but I am going to have to add a 3/8" spacer on the front wheels to add clearance for the wheels. It really isnt a big problem because I have a very hefty positive offset on the wheels because I wanted the front wheels to tuck well inside the fender wells.

Me too buddy. I might be taking a few weeks off the C10 pickup. We will be painting my 66 Suburban any day now and I would really like to get it back together. It will be nice to get one project under my belt. |

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean
I had this thought today I want to sell my Bonspeed Wheels. Now that I am going to go with black wheels I just hate to powder coat these beautiful wheels. I also want to see more of these calipers and think a thinner spoke would look better. Might be a little tough because of the 24's on the back....not so many want to put that size on these trucks. Oh the problems we have with our trucks

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean
too crazy,
than you for the link from the "garage forum" LOL!! the truck is shaping up just as nice as the surroundings in which it is being built!!! LOL! your attention to detail & build style reminds me (anyways) of n2billet's form. you are a blessed man & i get the feeling from your responses on both forums that you know that & don't mind sharing the blessings. these two forums are the best ones that i visit. keep up the great work & thank you again for sharing a small part of your life with us who share the same interests & can "gain" from your knowledge & experience. again great build & good luck with the rest of the build!!!! fellow garage & truck fan.... rodstored-72 & plain2car (garage forum) |

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean
Hey guys just checking in and hoping you all hang around a little longer for me. Right now I am in the middle of finishing up two projects in the garage. We are in the last two weeks of the big block 502 install in the 64 Malibu SS and now the 66 Burb is painted we are working on final assembly. Not that I am trying to boost my other thread as it has a small following but you really need to click on the 66 Burb link I have and check it out since we got it back from paint. It is still a chevy truck and I think you might find the color along with the wheels another concept for you pickup. I am very excited to see this truck come together.
For the above reasons we have taken a break on the pickup truck to focus on these other 2 vehicles because we are nearing the finishing line and I will be so happy to be able to focus entirely on the pickup truck. However, I am still shoping for parts and wanted to show you guys the pulley system I have been working on. With mulitple projects buying 2 or 3 Billet Specialties Surpentine Systems at $2400 a wack was too much to swallow for me. Pulley systems make the motor but not only did I not want to spend that much I wanted something unique. Because I am using alot of black my pulley system will also be black. Check out the system I am close to ordering and tell me what you think of it. [IMG]http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae360/markepierson/AUTOMOBILE%20BUILDS/C10%20Pick%20UP/0182.jpg[IMG]
