Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
Been working on this for about 7 years now, owned it for 10. Bought is for 3k, as an abandoned project that had been sitting in a field for well over a year.
350/350, 10:5.1, Comp cam, 10-bolt 3.24 rear, pro's pick bed, 75 firebird front clip - just need to get the front skins painted (this spring) and get them back on... Need to get some updated photos when the weather improves |

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
Here's my 51. Had it for about a year and a half. Pulled it off a farm in western Kansas where it sat for about 38 years. I have put a 235 in it and made it run, go , and stop. I drive it any time its nice out.

51 okie, You have a very nice truck. Its really solid and unlike most of the farm trucks the fenders and running boards aren't full of dents. Having the visor is a plus too.

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
Thanks guys. There are definitely some dents you can't see from this angle, and I have knocked some out. But they are just telling the history of the truck as far as I'm concerned. I have yet to do the floor repairs to the usual rust in these. Keep it on the road!!

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
Heres our 48 truck. We are down in New Zealand so they are somewhat harder to find than up your way.
Its got Jag suspension front and rear, Jag steering and currently has a 250 Chevvy 6 and 5 speed Toyota in it. As I race a blown BBC T bucket, we will shortly upgrade it to a 350 and auto. Both front and rear suspension are mounted as per the factory, (rear rubber mounted & still in the cage) and the towbar will go on shortly |

I love the way the TPI looks. I'm using it as well on my '54. The ceramic coated headers compliment the air runners well!

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
Just sold my 49 5 window project for a 55 2nd series GMC 100. V8, 4 speed hydromatic, big back window long box. It's going to be a project, but I'm looking forward to the end product.

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
Great find and looks complete!!
Hard to find with all the emblems and the dash not cut up and missing parts. The heater/defroster control & radio are real hard to find pieces. AND it's a Hydra-Matic. You did good for sure!! |

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
Yeah, I was originally going to sell this one to another guy, but after digging it up and talking to the wife, we kept this one. It was the truck she wanted originally anyways, so it's a win win.
