Re: 24 years later....here we go
I've made a little more progress. I got the vent windows overhauled and put in. I used precision gaskets from GMC Pauls with pop rivets and factory style pivot rivet. Got the taillights and side markers put in with the wire all tucked away. Got some rear bumper brackets from a board member. I had been a little worried about their fit due to the frame I built for the mustang tank but its a non issue. They bolt right up. Also got the Old Air mostly done. While waiting for compressor brackets to come back from powder I got it all wired in and integrated my factory AC control after new knobs and fan switch. Pretty cool. The driver door glass is all in, I need another clear door glass for the passenger side. Its really coming along now...

Looks great... Great attention to detail
Do you think you will have any problems installing the dash pad with all the dash components installed? .

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Thanks Crash. I dont think it will be a big deal. The glovebox liner is only 6 screws and Ive had the cluster in and out several times. We'll see though...thats part of the adventure...

Great.. I know I had problems with mine without anything installed. I had to enlarge the middle hole on the top of the dash to get the repo dash pad to fit right.. I am sure you will get it done without issue.. Keep the pictures coming; hope to see it in person when you are done..

Re: 24 years later....here we go
what kind of floor matting are you using and how much did you use when laying it down? I plan to do the inside of my doors and from the toeboard as high as I can all of the floor and all the way up the back of the cab.
Great progress

Re: 24 years later....here we go
New Type, I used FatMat that I got on Amazon. It came with a razor knife and the roller to put it down with. I got a 40sq ft roll from what I remember and its enough to do the floor and up on to the firewall and the rear of the cab. If you wanna do doors too you might need a little more. Someone on here would know more on exactly how much to get. The fatmat laid down real nice. Thanks to everyone for the comments, it wont be long.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Promotional exam is over, did good. So back to work on pickup. Got the Old Air done, just need my buddy Scot to come over and charge it. I bought this 71 Cheyenne Super real cheap the other day. All original, one owner. Its in pretty good shape. Go pick it up Monday or so. I dont know much about it at this point other than its all original drivetrain with a tilt column.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Got a dash pad, passenger side sport mirror, pedal pads/trim, and a few other things at the Decatur Swap Meet. Had fun with dash pad last night with everything else installed like Crash had anticipated. With lots of extensions and ingenuity I got to all of the nuts. Got rid of the Edelbrock air cleaner for a nice aluminum one. I need to charge the A/C but its pretty cool for the heater to blow hot air after all this time.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
wife and I got the back window in today with some trim I found at the junkyard. I found a set of front and rear out of a 71. I was in really nice shape with very few flaws. I think it will polish up real good. I found a tach dash in a 67 gmc while I was there too.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
I noticed that you have a rear cargo light. When you ordered it did it come with the new wiring harness? Also did it come with a temp-plate to cut the hole out. I am wanting to install one on my cab. I figured it would be best to do it at this stage before I painted te cab. gdavis from Homosassa, fl.

GDavis that is my original cargo light. I polished it up and put a new lens in it. My harness was like new so I reused it. Im not sure if the repop ones come with a template or not.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Made a little more progress. Got the tailgate trimmed out, new cab divider trim, door handles, and a few little pieces on inside. Today Im gonna pull the cluster and put in a new printed circuit and a new oil pressure line. I had this pic of back when I sat the cab on. Seems like a long time ago. Also the wife and I just got back from Crested Butte CO. Had a great time....

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Have to say, in that picture it looks like all you can think about is getting back to the truck.
I love Crested Butte, Breckinridge area. Truck is looking good!
