Re: 1954 Chevy / S10
oldman3, Yes they are. The next couple weeks are going to be busy. This weekenk we have a picnic in the afternoon so hopefully I may sling some primer in the morning or not till sunday. I would like to get the whole front end in epoxy this weekend. Next weekend the cab. Then the truck will be leaving. Then after that I will be roofing for a while. Thank you for asking.

Blitz'd, I usaually do not go. I think that the stuff is priced way to high. And a lot of the time I think I threw away better things.

Re: 1954 Chevy / S10
Shannon,
love the builds you have going on. I hope your house is getting back to normal. This has been one wild year. Yall got a ton of rain and we got those tornadoes back in April. Insurance companies I am sure giving people some grief with all the money they are paying out. But on another note, you got mad skills...

Re: 1954 Chevy / S10
When you get a chance can you give me a measurement on where your front and rear cab mounts are. I just need some kind of reference point! THANX!

Re: 1954 Chevy / S10
britnjc, Thank you. Yes thing are finally getting back to normal. I got a insurance check so in 2 weeks I will be roofing. And just picked up the Durango yesterday and the insurance company is paying for that one too. It had clear water in the motor in which broke the rod. Nobody seems to know how it got in the motor. It came in while it was not running and the water must have blew it under the hood and found its way to the throttle body some how. I am sure everybody is tired of these storms/rain. I know I am!
Fat Mike, I will tonight. Do you mean on the cab or the frame. Let me know. Shannon |

Re: 1954 Chevy / S10
Kabwe,Thank you. I should have it all primer after this weekend. Then it is going home. Good job on the cross member.
Fat Mike, My cab mounts are from the back of the factory front body mount. My mounts are made out of 3" tubing. The front edge of the front mount is 5 5/8" and the front edge of the back mount is 40 3/4". Also remember that my floors are not the factory floors. They are made out of 1" X 1" 1/8 wall tubing for the structure then 18 gauge sheet metal. Let me know if you need anything else. Shannon |

Where are they in reference to the frame. Like they are 47" from the front suspension shock hole. Thanks

Re: 1954 Chevy / S10
Fat Mike. They are from the back of the factory front cab mount(s10). If you want I can measure from the front shock hole. I just did the factory front cab mount because it was close and on the same plain as my new mounts. Let me know.

Re: 1954 Chevy / S10
Hi Trently, The panel is a 1948. I should be soon working on it again. So there will be a build thread on it. Have a good one.

Re: 1954 Chevy / S10
Fat Mike, No problem. I will measure from the shock to the front of each body mount. I did not think of if you ground them off. I took them off with my plasm cutter so there was still about a 1/8 inch left of the factory front mount and I did not grind them off yet.

Re: 1954 Chevy / S10
Fat Mike,From the shock stud to the front of the front mount is 29 1/2 inches and to the front of the rear mount 64 3/4 inches. That is not to the holes if you want that add 1 1/2 inches. If you need anymore let me know.

Re: 1954 Chevy / S10
Well everything is in epoxy primer. Bottom of the cab, inside and outside of cab, inside and outside of the doors. radiator support, steering column, U joints and dd shaft. and other misc. stuff all primed. So hopefully tomorrow I can bolt it all together and it will ready for the owner to pick up. Here are some pictures.
