Doug, your truck turned out sooo nice. I can't wait to take it for a spin in Columbus....
I bet it's nice to enjoy it all painted up. Marc

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver
I suck as a photographer, a friend of mine sent me a link to a picture of my truck taken last Tuesday at the Plainfield, IL cruise night on the Chicago World of Wheels website. It is much better than I could have done, so I nabbed it and pasted it here, along with a picture of the engine and interior. I still have to put the wood in the bed, but whether its done or not its going to Goodguys Columbus, and not on a trailer unless it breaks on the way!

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver
I finally took the truck to my buddy Mike's house to fit the wood in the bed. I purchased the oak boards in early Spring and Mike cut them to the proper width, notched the edges for the stainless strips and varnished them as well right after I dropped them off. I kinda drug Saturday we cut them for wheel tub clearance and dropped them in the bed. Here's a picture of them in place, but not bolted down yet. I have to give a big thanks to Mike for his craftsmanship and patience. Making pine templates for the wheel well cut outs took a long time, but really helped when we cut the oak boards to fit. My brother introduced me to the Layout app on my phone, you can mix several pictures into one, very cool!

Beautiful truck. I can only hope mine turns out that nice some day. I have one of those dashes also but was talked into the Impala one.

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver
I am planning to put a PCV valve in a SBC intake, and I have a couple of questions. Did you drill and tap in the flat area between the carb and distributor? What did you use for a baffle? And, instead of the Moon breathers in the valve covers, do you think it would be adequate/effective to rely on the '67-back style oil fill tube cap/breather at the front of the manifold for incoming air?

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver
ive got a pcv valve in my 327. the Eledbrock manifold has a threaded port in the flat area between the distributor & carb. I screwed in a 90 degree fitting & ran a hose around to the front of the carb with the pcv valve in line. then ive got a breather cap on the oil fill tube. seems to have worked fine for many years. good luck
